I'm not sure we know what his long-term goal is. And even if he says what it is at some point, he's probably lying. There are a few things I can think of that might be what he's ultimately trying to do, but they're all pure speculation and involve a ton of stuff (including several characters) that the show isn't going to get to for a while. (Also, I think I need to reread the fifth book, since, in having discussions about the books with other people who read them, I realize that I was getting way too bogged down in the several hundred plotlines they had by that point, and I really only remember about half of what happened.)
Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I'm not completely convinced he has a long-term goal other than get everything he didn't have as a child - wealth, status, Cat (or reasonable facsimile thereof such as Sansa), etc. Possibly he has something more specific in mind, but I don't think so.
And is his wandering accent all part of the diabolical plan?
Yeah, this season I could swear that he sounds different.
There have been times when he had several different accents within a single sentence.
The first things I'd seen him in he had a thick Irish accent and then a serviceable general American one.
But if people can change faces, why not?
Someone remind me--did Arya's wolf get killed? Or it still off in hiding?
We haven't seen Arya's wolf since she shooed off back in S1.
Hmm. I wonder if that will be a thing. From what I've learnt about GRRM, it should be, shouldn't it?
In the books it's strongly implied that Nymeria is still out there in the wild somewhere. Bran/Summer are kind of telepathic with all the other wolves and can sense her in their dreams.
There were random backgroundy people talking about the danger from wolves in the region for a while, though I think maybe not since the Red Wedding. Because that is juicier gossip.
Yeah, this season I could swear that he sounds different.
His first scene back he was full-on Irish, and I was like. "Wait, what? I didn't think Littlefinger was Irish before. Is my memory that bad?" It's been drifting around the British Isles since then.
