You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I don't have HBO so I can't see this season of GOTs but that hasn't stopped me from spoiling myself by reading this thread.

I have a question about the Hound. I just mainlined my Season 3 DVDs and still don't know why the Hound was outside of Kings' Landing so that he could be captured by the Brotherhood?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

He fled during the Battle of Blackwater. He's afraid of fire.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have a Littlefinger question that I am hoping book readers can answer.

So, if Littlefinger is playing the long game here, what are we to believe is his ultimate aim? The power shifts he has contributed to/engineered could destabilize and cause more problems than he is prepared to address.

And is his wandering accent all part of the diabolical plan?

I'm not sure we know what his long-term goal is. And even if he says what it is at some point, he's probably lying. There are a few things I can think of that might be what he's ultimately trying to do, but they're all pure speculation and involve a ton of stuff (including several characters) that the show isn't going to get to for a while. (Also, I think I need to reread the fifth book, since, in having discussions about the books with other people who read them, I realize that I was getting way too bogged down in the several hundred plotlines they had by that point, and I really only remember about half of what happened.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm not completely convinced he has a long-term goal other than get everything he didn't have as a child - wealth, status, Cat (or reasonable facsimile thereof such as Sansa), etc. Possibly he has something more specific in mind, but I don't think so.

Because books.

And is his wandering accent all part of the diabolical plan?

Yeah, this season I could swear that he sounds different.

There have been times when he had several different accents within a single sentence.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The first things I'd seen him in he had a thick Irish accent and then a serviceable general American one.

But if people can change faces, why not?

Someone remind me--did Arya's wolf get killed? Or it still off in hiding?

Amy - May 08, 2014 10:08:25 am PDT #5810 of 7329
Because books.

We haven't seen Arya's wolf since she shooed off back in S1.
