Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was actually whetted for something more sadistic.

Well, and fictional.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I noticed the teeniest thing in the episode where Cersei threatens to kill Maergary. When Maergary says the Castermeres are "gone", Cersei says it's a delicate word for slaughter.

Shortly after that is a scene where Joffrey was giving Sansa away to Tyrion, and his explanation is that her father is "gone". Ick. Own your shit, boy.

I read people saying this past True Blood was a flashback to the good times.

Well, it did seem to be arguing that vampires and people around them have bad wigs, but I'm not sure what was good about it. Is that true? This is what it was like when it was good? That might help me stop, but god help me, I like Lafayette so much and he has NO PLOTLINE OF HIS OWN. Why does he settle for magical negro?

And why haven't humans done this to vampires before? Not only are they empath free, it's clear they'll put their urge to win so high up that they'd destroy their own race with it--much faster than us.

I would like to think enhanced senses and extended life would help me be wiser, but how can you be a powerful member of one community and jump right into what's clearly killer musical chairs? How is everything that Pam (Pam?) told the "therapist" not going to be immediately used to destroy their species? Without the sire bond, would they have enough survival instinct to last this long? Jesus.

The redheaded vamp just now wonders if they're awful. I'm going to assume they are biologically incapable of introspection, and the fairies she killed (again, how do they not wipe one or the other of these species out???? Do we have anything in our true fauna that predators will gorge on them beyon sensibility? Other than himans--with sapience comes the capability for deep stupidity.) are what's letting her have this insight.

Oh, and real sneaky not having Sookie in the promo for next week. I will give them an internet dollar and a slow clap if they play her off the stage.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Family Tree is great except I would cause brain trauma to the sister. I am not good with indulging breaks from reality like that--they make me a nasty bitch. It's on the record.

OK, having just finished the season, I'm not sure I'm getting the objection here. Would it be just as bad if it was a ventriloquist doll as opposed to a monkey puppet? Because this reminds me of Jody on SOAP more than anything.

And, actually, the monkey is usually right on the money.

Aw, damn. Hilarious and tear-jerking at the same time, from ComicCon, this is what HBO brought for Game of Thrones:

An Oscars-like In Memoriam for all the characters killed so far on the show.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I love the most upvoted comment:

Did they not forget Theon Greyjoy's penis?

I am so glad they didn't show scenes from the Red Wedding in that. I am done with the ep for awhile.

Because I will not treat a doll like it's a person? Most people over anthropomorphise their pets for me--when it's something with your hand up its butt, I would have set it on fire way before she loses it at the end of the season, and I would not indulge her.

On the flip side, the ventriloquist doll was fucking hysterical. But I would also have punched them both in the face if I'd watched the show much later, and with less of a magical suspension of disbelief.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Have we decided Netflix is Premium? Because I need to know why nobody is talking about the pure unfiltered awesomeness that is Orange Is The New Black.

Hemlock Grove was discussed here, so I guess OitNB is here too.

The only discussion I've seen of that show was Jasika Nicole being grumpy that a show is finally set somewhere totally black-dominated and the lead is still white. How does the rest of the cast tally up to actual demographics?

I have not watched OitNB yet, but I keep hearing it is awesome.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so, IMO:

1) I like that the cast is pretty diverse generally, but the lead actress is really fucking irritating at times (which I suppose is part of the point), but a fraction of the time her storyline or performance stops the momentum of the show dead.

2) between flashbacks and other shit, the lead's personality can vary wildly. There was one ep (~ep 9 or 10) where I honestly wondered if they were going for a multiple personality disorder thing or something because I did not understand her acting choices at all.

3) there were some statements made about prison life in ep 1 that are constantly violated in subsequent episodes. I get that this is supposed to be a comedy/dramedy but it hits realism very rarely. The prisoners are OFTEN unsupervised, there is very little physical threat to the inmates (in general).

I'm not looking for Oz for women or anything, but the way they deal with stakes is uneven.

4) American Pie guy who plays her fiancé is someone I just want to punch in the fucking face.

I have about 1-2 eps left I think.
