I might develop affection and love for pets (MIGHT, I barely tolerated my parents' last cat although the current one is great), but if they can't share jokes or discuss entertainment with me, they don't qualify as friends.

Oh man - so the union guys who work in the archive here all have New Jersey accents straight out of central casting (think Jon Stewart's New Jersey gangster character), and I just had the pleasure of listening to three of them talk about Game of Thrones for like ten minutes right outside my office before I had to jump in and explain who Roose Bolton and Ramsay Snow/Bolton were and how they related to everyone else onscreen. These guys should have a YouTube channel.
