Okay, so forgive me for having a cynical view of love, but has it occurred to Sookie that Eric may not really "love" her, but that he is attracted to her elven blood and the way she smells? I don't buy, as depicted on screen, their "love affair." I might buy it from her perspective (but not really). I definitely don't buy it from his.
He doesn't have a memory, so does he know what love is?
Am I just a grump?
I don't think Sookie thinks Eric loves her. he's never told her that. he just told Bill. she's just been fighting her attraction to him for years and now that he's turned into this sweet, tortured vampire she's finally giving in.
I don't know why you'd need a memory to know what love is. love isn't really about memories. it's about feelings.
Yeah, I don't think you need a memory to fall in love. I think he's fallen for what he's seen of her since he woke up funny, and I guess an argument may be made that it's soon for that.
but aren't feelings based in something more than 1 week's acquaintance? I think "love" involves really knowing a person. Eric can't claim that about Sookie, can he?
Love at first sight is a very oft-used trope.
Torchwood:
that was NOT right. At all. I'm in a huff.
Which particular not rightness?
I am not happy about Vera.
That is what I'm not happy about.
yes. that is what I was referring to. talk about the absolute worst way to "die" possible.
Canceling my season pass for Torchwood on my DVR. I've given this series more than enough chances.
I'm pretty much right behind you Tom.
There is just nothing compelling in the story. As much as I love Jack and Gwen, it seems all the fun _and_ profundity has been wrung out of the show.
I was holding out to see who/what would have engineered such a horrible assault on humanity, but I don't care anymore.
Comments where will be enough for me.
