Always Anti-fascist!

Yay! Some of those commenters who are bitter must feel *twice* as bad now.ETA: It's funny...everyone online remembers him/herself as a massive Wire fan, because it's cool to say that now, but when I started watching in season 2, it was "We few/we unhappy few/ we band of motherfuckers" and every year, like, gnawing our nails to nubbins while Albrecht joked about the letters he got from "All 250 of the Wire's loyal fans."(He was *such* a dick. Seriously.) Simon must not know what to do with himself not having to be a "begging-ass bitch," with the network now.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh, thank goodness-- because there are still so many stories to be told.

Always Anti-fascist!

I wonder how long it will be before the headlines start: Mayor to Treme: Thanks for the ducats: Now go home. Maybe one more season at least. Plus, thanks to the internet, Simon doesn't have to be in Baltimore to fight there.

Always Anti-fascist!

Treme: So. Much. Better. Of course, Al Green is a major fave.

Because books.

Game of Thrones is INSANE. I love it, but I definitely need more flowcharts. Or a scorecard.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes - Treme was very enjoyable. I am amazed that Jeannette wasn't fired after last week (because that chef was such a freak) but hope that she's going to move back to NO now.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

How many more eps are there to GoT?

I'm impressed by the scenes original to the adaptation, such and Renly/Loras and the conversation between Cersei and Robert. I always thought a lot of Mark Addy as an actor, but he's really exceeding anything I've seen of him here. And they're doing more with Cersei, too -- I'd like to think because they have a powerhouse of an actress.

(It's not for nothing she played Sarah Conner.)

In both the book and the series, we don't stint on women's roles and women's agency (or lack thereof). In her way, Cersei is as trapped as Daenerys or Sansa or Arya or a bunch more women that we'll yet get to meet.
