OMG, when Bourdain called Alan Richman a douchebag, I believe he was showing *restraint* This may be the meanest bit of "criticism" I have read ever. And I've been on the internet fifteen years. I know mean, petty, and dog-whistle racist pretty well...Mr. Richman got the trifecta.(Even if the city wasn't still in ruins when he wrote this, which in my view, is like a caning offense, and the fact that someone said "Good job, Richman," and paid him for that makes me want to throw up as a *writer*, even if I don't have personal ties to the place.
