I guess I just don't understand the need to fixate on ruthless characters and then construct imaginary scenarios where they'd be really nice people if someone would just give them some understanding.
Then again, watching Joss' and Tim's shows has prepared me to have an appreciation of destructive and unrepentantly evil characters, like Angelus, Darla, Drusilla, Jaye Tyler...
What, you love String but not Frank Sobatka?
Dude, Frank Sobatka is a pretty awesome character. He's smart and dedicated, and it's not fair that he has Zig for a son, but he just does not look like Idris Elba does in a suit and glasses.
On occasion, I can be very, very shallow. And he makes Macroeconomics hot.
I can't wait for you to catch up.
Neither can I! It has such a huge cast and a complicated storyline, and yet I know who everyone is, and... and... Jesus, we are in a golden age of TV.
I love Frank but in the way that he makes me cry(and have this whole rant about Chris Bauer never winning an Emmy for it and... don't get me started.) I think he reminds me of some relatives.
But I love Stringer in the way that makes me wonder what he smells like.
And I gotta change my tag now...
Hey, I should change my tag, too.
Rawls is just, everybody's worst boss ever, isn't he?
You're right, Lester is one of the few of The Wire's good husband candidates, Shrift.
Although the soft spot I've always had for Pres has grown a lot this season.ETA: Although the thing about The Wire always is, that liking a guy isn't always a sign that he is worthy, because Clay Davis is really a scourge, but I am continually amused by him in full-on fat-cat mode.
Well, sheeit.
Am still incredibly horrified by the fact that Namond's mother actively *promotes* her son's entry into the "game". I always thought that came about from some sort of absenteeism or...denial. Which are tragic enough, but that shit ain't no Junior Achievement. I always get mad at her for not being protective or something.

Seriously. I'm
so
entertained when McNulty uses his powers for both good and evil, but I wouldn't touch him with a 100-foot relationship pole.
I would. Yes. No. Maybe.
But I wouldn't expect much good once the clothes went back on.
I loved last night's ep of course except I really, really dislike Theresa D'Agostino or whatever her name is. Both the character and the actress bug the crap out of me. I could deal with not liking the character (I mean, look what her line of work is) but the actress is just really stiff. And it stands out so much in that amazing cast.
I was happy to see Brianna again. Is there something else up with Namond's mom aside from her being a big spender? It seemed like they were hinting at something but it also makes sense to me that money was gone because she is living a very expensive life.
My personal fave moment from last night: Carcetti's campaign manager (Norman) imitating Clay Davis. Sheeee-it! hee hee
