There aren't too many guys that can carry that off like Bushy Top. My friend Andrea says that she thinks DW can hypnotize(or I suppose it's hypnotise, for him) folks with his eyebrows. Because I can think of at least three times, independent of "Yes!No. Maybe," where I thought I'd want to kill Jimmy, if he was a guy in my life, but somehow, when it was all said and done, he got my sympathy anyway. I still wonder how he does it...I'm not discounting the eyebrow theory.

Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra
[NAFDA] A thread for the discussion of all original programming on HBO, Showtime, Starz and other premium channels.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I like Treme, but I readily admit it is a style of tv watching that I don't recall doing before. I am literally along for the ride with this show. I am not trying to figure anything out. I am enjoying the pace and the surprises.
I'm worried about the street musician couple because of what happened to the people Bob thinks they may be based on
There's been a lot of discussion about this elsewhere on the Interwebs. I really hope that this isn't the way they go. But they might. I've been a little worried that they might work the filmmaker Helen Hill's story into Melissa Leo's character. But I'm willing to let Simon & co work these out the way they see fit.
I'm a bit worried for John Goodman's character both based on who he's inspired by (don't remember the name, but I saw it mentioned in a writeup on Treme/Simon) and the fact that he's not in the main credits, only the end ones.
I'm so stoked that ML is in this...I know that Simon said(anyone else picturing a really fucked-up kids game, here..."reach for the sky, motherfucker...you didn't say "Simon said,") he enjoyed working with her very much and did not find her difficult, but at the time I thought maybe his standards for difficult weren't like others') It must be true, though. he asked her back.

Don't know anything about Melissa Leo personally vis-a-vis difficulty.
I don't either. I just like her work a lot.
I do recall hearing some stuff about her being difficult...where all values of difficult equal, serious about her craft. But these stories also came out at the same time she was in ugly, ugly battle with John Heard over their child. So, yeah. Take that for what it is worth.
I read somewhere that Heard called her on the set of Homicide like fifty times a day. That'd make me...difficult, too.
I think in that situation I'd have given them fodder for a "ripped from the headlines" casefile.
