Has Maryanne even interacted with a single vamp yet? If not, I wonder what's up with that.
I'd imagine that's by design: they'd probably know she wasn't human almost immediately, so she's probably avoided them until she's ready to deal with them.
Likewise, she killed the exorcist woman and attacked Sookie, so she was probably making sure anyone who can "out" her is marginalized early.
I wonder if that's why Hoyt hasn't succumbed yet, or at least since he started spending time with Jessica.
Hmm. There's a number of people in town who've not succumbed -- Andy, who was always late to the party; the sheriff, except when Maryann approached him directly, Lafayette, who's mostly just not been around those people. I think her range is growing, but I don't think she effects the entire town just yet.
I was sort of 'in a mood' anyway, but Godric had me weeping. Eric sobbing? Did me right in.
Intriguing that the actor playing Godric is also Danish...the finding out of which immediately fixed my, 'Dayum, kid's got mad language skillz' delusion.
I now know what Charlaine Harris meant at ComicCon when she said that people should enjoy the books and tv show as completely different entertainment options.
Except for names and locations, we've gone totally off-trail, bookwise. This is not me complaining. I just thought I'd have a leg up, where the plots were concerned...nsm.
this picspam of the latest ep of True Blood is just...guh.
Oh my good heavens, Jason Stackhouse! I could not love Jason Stackhouse any more. He is the man. I found the Jason, Sam and Andy Fake God Dinner Theater to be a hoot and a half. And Terry getting to be highly functional if delusional and to protect his "special lady"? Made of Win. Interesting that Terry's love for Arlene was able to cut through the Mary Anne fog and affect his decision making.
Poor, poor Sam and Tara. They really have been going through shit since about . . . oh, the beginning of the show. Those are two characters in desperate need of good news.
And my poor Jessica and Hoyt. I thought it would end badly, but not like that. I don't think the worst will happen, but even if it doesnt, dude, it's going to be hard going get back from that. I still have hope for those two, though, because Hoyt Fortenberry is only slightly less awesome than the current incarnation of Jason Stackhouse.
I don't know how I feel about the developments with Sookie. I'll have to see how it plays out.
Finally, Mary Anne starts to earn her keep. Better late than never, I guess.
Sookie shooting beams of light from her hand? WTF? That's probably the only thing that gave me pause.
Otherwise, kat I agree 100%. It really was an entertaining episode.
What kat said. Definitely.
Do we know who Bill is trying to see? Is that the same vamp who chewed everybody out about the fiasco in Dallas, or is it someone we haven't met yet?
Sookie shooting beams of light from her hand? WTF? That's probably the only thing that gave me pause.
Kinda loved Maryanne's rather gleeful response to being forcibly rebuffed there. I suspect she has her eyes set on another heart. Which also makes me fear that Maryanne will be defeated/destroyed by a Sookie ex machina.
Also, for some reason, Maryanne's "What are you!?" reminded me of Adam's "Interesting." from the season 4 Buffy finale.
Franken,
I saw the casting announcement for the queen, so I know who the actress is, but not anything about her role, etc.
I think that he said it was the Queen. . . or the guards said something about the Queen expecting him. I don't think it's the talking head pundit vampire.
No, I heard the reference to the queen, but since I missed the first season (on order right now), I wasn't sure if that was an official title for pundit vamp or not. Thanks.
