"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have a lot more respect for Sam now than I did last season. Sam really knows how to save his own ass REPEATEDLY. It's pretty impressive.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I don't know if he knew before that he could change into other shapes. First, he found out that what's her face could do more than one, and then when he was on the run, he saw the owl and changed without planning to. Now, he seems to just have to see the animal to change.

yes, he mentions it in the first season that he has to look at something in order to change and that other shapes aren't as easy for him to do.

looks like it is becoming easier for him, yes?

oh, I totally missed that. Maybe it's an adrenaline thing?

The Godric thing was sad, but I think they should have given us a bit more of the character - I was not that moved by his death as I didn't know much of him. Loved Lafayette - he will kick yo ass! Sad that the rest of the season will be Mary Ann. Ugh. I enjoyed the whole Dallas storyline.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

The Dallas storyline was genius. I hope they go back there someday. I want to see what that territory becomes with Isabel as sherrif.

I'm kinda hoping it's him that eventually takes down/takes out Maryanne. Even if it's completely inadvertant/accidental, it would be such sweet justice.

My hope is that Sam and Andy will hook up with Jason and form an Army of Awesomeness to take down Mary Anne and whatever god she's bringing with her. I can't wait for Jason to go all Rambo on the good citizens of Bon Temps. If you'd told me at the start of the season that I'd come to love him more than any other character save Hoyt Fortenberry (who is a grown ass man, y'all!) I would've told you to leave that crack alone. But S2 Jason Stackhouse is all over awesome. From that goofy, bloody thumbs up to Sookie to being all broken and vulnerable and inappropriately hot with her in their bedroom Gran-a-thon to his contempt for Steve and Sarah (and Steve's still visible paintball mark, hee!), I just frikkin' love that kid.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Now that the Maryanne storyline is moving forward, I don't have so many problems, especially when the folks get home and discover the shitstorm underway.

I'm sad that Stan ended up being one of the casualties, but only because I'll miss having Ed Quinn around. Oh well, they sort of got Kim back on Eureka; maybe they can find a way to get Nathan back too.

Personally, I got enough of Godric to make it moving for me. Also, better an intriguing too little than a stay around too long.

Yeah, I can't even believe I'm loving Jason. Hated him so so so much for most of S1.

I still haven't seen season 1 (though I know the major plot points), so it's going to be real intersting to go back and see where all these folks started.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Has Maryanne even interacted with a single vamp yet? If not, I wonder what's up with that.

I'd imagine that's by design: they'd probably know she wasn't human almost immediately, so she's probably avoided them until she's ready to deal with them.

Likewise, she killed the exorcist woman and attacked Sookie, so she was probably making sure anyone who can "out" her is marginalized early.

I wonder if that's why Hoyt hasn't succumbed yet, or at least since he started spending time with Jessica.

Hmm. There's a number of people in town who've not succumbed -- Andy, who was always late to the party; the sheriff, except when Maryann approached him directly, Lafayette, who's mostly just not been around those people. I think her range is growing, but I don't think she effects the entire town just yet.
