That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Thanks, Cor. My second season ahem appears to be of a lower video quality than the first, so it was hard to tell.

Always Anti-fascist!

It's all in the game, right?

Surveillance is so exciting sometimes! I loved the tail of the cargo. They even switched cars in the middle! I think there needed to be a little more "10-4, do you copy?" business, though.

I'm confused about the drug trade! How does, er, the rather large dude fit in? Wasn't he the referee for the basketball game? And the guy who told Omar Avon's pager number? And the guy who cleared Zig of his debt? Why doesn't Avon want to deal with him? And is he supplying the East Side already? If not, then what's his territory? Because his proposition seems reasonable enough.

Man, Daniels is just being pulled in all different directions. Trouble is, I'm finding it increasingly hard to believe that any of these people really care about bringing justice to the dead girls. Well, besides Lester. Maybe Kima. Hell, maybe neither one of them; maybe they were just trying to make the other party feel guilty. The murders just seem like fucking leverage, this whole season. The only person without an agenda in this damn case is Beadie, bless her heart.

He's Proposition Joe. You fuck with him, he'll kill your whole family. And no, he wasn't the referee. He was the other side. The East Side, if you will.

And no, he wasn't the referee.

Okay, I did think he maybe wasn't the referee. I also thought Stringer referred to him as Proposition Joe, but that seemed like such a silly name I thought I had it wrong.

Punishingly Intricate

PROP JOE!!!

one of my favorite characters from the series. He's a local actor/teacher whose role expanded as the series progressed I think because he was so fucking awesome.

I must say, spending the entire teaser slowly and heavy-handedly showing us that McNulty was in a self-destructive downward spiral was a little irritating. At least there was a hot waitress.

Then there was a whole random scene about Bunk's choice of clothing.

Oh no you dumbshit cops! It's a SECRET DETAIL! Dammit!!

Man, it kind of sucks that it took this long to get a damn wire, and, like, THE VERY DAY they start using it, their target is clued onto them.

Prez's fascination with the whole deal is really endearing, though. He's having so much fun! I have to keep trying to forget that he clocked a kid in the eye. I know he's moved way past that, but it's the first major thing we see him do, so it's kind of a defining moment for his character and how we perceive him.

What the fuck is up with Zig and the duck??

I'm also worried about what sort of retaliation is going to hit the Barksdale kids. Were none of the East Side boys packing heat at all, seriously?

It's interesting to see what sort of information Our Heroes have and wait for them to piece it all together so that it takes them to The Greek.

What the fuck is up with Zig and the duck??

This is a question of almost cosmic significance.
