I'm a little confused about Stringer's schooling. Why did he go through all that car-switching cloak-and-dagger to get to his class before? Did that just look more complicated than it actually was? Because I thought he was keeping it secret from his crew to retain his street cred or something, but he's studying in front of them.

Also: how did McNulty know that Omar was back in Baltimore? Shouldn't he have been looking for him in New York?

I think the complication wasn't so much about deceiving his crew as the police and college. But you may be onto something. He was more crafty about it when Avon was on the street.

Well, it didn't show anything more than we expected. We knew both SOs would be upset. The actual visuals were obvious, but the way of showing them was clever and well done.

I loved his little "class" with the rest of his crew. Teaching with the Socratic method! Although I feel like the techniques he's "learning" are things he already should have known or had been doing. I mean, last season, didn't they already put the same shit out with a different name? The yellow tops? It sounds to me like what the professor was really implying was that the Barksdale crew should distance themselves from the Barksdale name. Perhaps the Bell crew, eh?
