That's freaky cause I just reread The Corner this week. Baltimore hivemind hollaback. (Someday they are going to find me broken, alone, speaking some unintelligible patois full of things like "Foamy...that's some *bullshit* and "Salad shooters,"Please claim my ass before government researchers do...kthxbye.) Dag. Did it again.

And they never got around to Nero!
JfC: I'm at ep 7, I think. I kinda love Kai. And love that she loves Butchie, even though he clearly doesn't deserve it. This really is a pretty hopeful show. I mean, they've all got a road to redemption, if you will. And, it seems like the kind of show where at least most of them just might stay on it, more or less.
All out of Deadwood. Fuck.
I know! Really didn't expect to miss it so much, since I got dragged kicking and screaming, like a whore with her monthly, to watch it in the first place. But I do. Even Swergin.(compelling cocksucker that he is and fuckin' show-stealer too. The other actors must hate him sometimes, though I think they really like McShane lots) But especially Jane, Trixie, and the Doc are my favorites.
Especially Swegin. Especially, of course, except for all the other cocksuckers.

Money quote:
My standard for verisimilitude is simple and I came to it when I started to write prose narrative: fuck the average reader.
I listened to the commentary on S1 Ep 11 the night before last, which consisted of Simon and Pelecanos talking about how they love to work in references to favored eateries and how both love working in subtle payoffs that leave the casual viewer in the dark.
Also, I feel for you, Amy. When Deadwood ran out, a little part of me died. Like a throat-slit hoople in the dark.
Dag, wanna see the rest. As well as hear "true dat" and "narco" in a Londonish accent(mos def) The part I always hated about journalism school was writing for "Joe Sixpack" come to think of it. I'm glad to know I wasn't just being an arrogant pisher thinking maybe Joe should read a fuckin' book. Or twelve. (ok, maybe it was a little arrogant.)
