Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Our wings are not tired.

People who turn to the last page of a book – what universe did they come from?

Late to the discussion, but I have done this, often. I watch movies and shows that I have watched several times before and can recite half the lines. Knowing what is coming doesn't ruin it for me if the journey is well constructed.

HSQ is really wonderful stuff, but rarely has being spoiled ruined it for me. I still jump, cry, laugh, and sometimes yell when it happens.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

There are some things I love even though I've seen them several times. Sometimes it's because I see new things, sometimes it's because it evokes a particular feeling, sometimes it's just that good of a story. For me, spoilers are somehow different. I think it's because I don't (necessarily) know the ending, it's like reading a chapter out of the middle.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Re the SPN W&P --

The real question: Do we previously or not?

Good God, "Salvation" has the Kansas video. How could you even consider skipping over that??

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The Eureka DVDs are being released on my birthday. I know what I am buying myself this year.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Would you like to elaborate?

Life on Mars finale: He's back in the present for what seems to be not very long, and back on duty for even less long. He's depressed. He misses his fantasy coma life. So far, so good. But then he kills himself in order to reenter a fantasy world, and it's presented as a happy ending! Don't try to tell me it's not unambiguously happy -- the kiss seals it.

It's just now occurred to me that it's similar to one interpretation of Pan's Labyrinth (I'll put in a few blank rows now in case you haven't seen that film) *

where Ofelia dies at the end and only imagines that she lives happily ever after as a princess in her magic kingdom. (Except that Del Toro has said in interviews that he never intended anyone to have that interpretation; as far as he's concerned, Ofelia really does go to the kingdom.)
