Life on Mars finale: He's back in the present for what seems to be not very long, and back on duty for even less long. He's depressed. He misses his fantasy coma life. So far, so good. But then he kills himself in order to reenter a fantasy world, and it's presented as a happy ending! Don't try to tell me it's not unambiguously happy -- the kiss seals it.
It's just now occurred to me that it's similar to one interpretation of
Pan's Labyrinth (I'll put in a few blank rows now in case you haven't seen that film)

where Ofelia dies at the end and only imagines that she lives happily ever after as a princess in her magic kingdom. (Except that Del Toro has said in interviews that he never intended anyone to have that interpretation; as far as he's concerned, Ofelia really does go to the kingdom.)
