I was intrigued by all the Morgan character moments we saw. However, I still didn't come away feeling that I understood why Harry is so despised by the other wizards, who at least in the person of Ancient Mai seem at least ethics-neutral.

Doctor Who 3.02 - I agree with everybody else! A nice romp, lots of fun. I liked the Potter stuff a lot too. Also, given that Liz the First recognises the Doctor instantly, and that there doesn't seem to be another Tudor episode scheduled this season, would it be reading too much into it all to assume that David T. is going to stay on and they'll be doing the explanation for the antipathy in Season 4...? He does seem to have a knack for pissing off female English monarchs.

Also, never mind that WS wrote Hamlet afterwards, what about the obvious - Macbeth?! I'll never look at the three wyrd sisters the same way again.

TDF: I was actually really enjoying this ep (I called "Dragon!" to my cat the second I heard about the green fire), and then the big fakeout was revealed, and all the progress made with Murphy is undone, grrr. I felt so cheated (even if it did explain some of the awful lines coming out of her mouth) but it was also good, because I never once suspected her.

Loved loved loved Harry's "Really? Cuz sometimes I scare the hell out of myself" in response to Morgan's "You don't scare me, Dresden."

Wasn't a big fan of the execution of the freeze-frame in the beginning, or the narration for the beginning of each act. The narration seemed redundant and rushed and then I don't realize that it's stopped and I should be listening to the scene now.

the dragon cgi was only marginally better than the werewolves, its only saving grace was how they tried to not show it at all and kill it real quick-like.

So, is next weeks ep, the finale, always intended as the finale?

Having just seen the SG-1 cliffhanger with its stunted gargoyledragon in reruns, the Dresden one looked pretty impressive in comparison. At least they managed the impression of looming bulk and kept it mostly in the shadows.

Sometimes less is more, especially when you don't have Peter Jackson's budget for SFX.

This episode was a Robert Hewitt Wolfe script, so I'm not surprised I liked it more than a lot of the other eps. I wish he actually wrote the entire season a la Straczynski.

Did I mention here how sad Iwas that Murphy doesn't know yet? I so wanted real Murphy to know.

I wanted real Murphy to know too. I was impressed with how well she was handling it all, and then, damn, not really her. But yeah, I totally didn't see it coming. The dragon had her Murphy imitation down pat.

Some good one-liners, and the Harry-n-Bob Show is always neat.

I don't think the next episode was intended to be the season ender. That's a little troubling. But we'll see. I haven't been sorely disappointed by any of them yet.

If you go to epguides - the "originally" intended order is listed and there is nothing on that list that suggests that next week's episode wasn't meant to be episode 12.

I actually thought that the conversation between Harry and the girl warden was very informative. The fact that there's a file on Harry that clearly has a bias made me understand why he was so hated. In the White Council's mind, he killed a warden with black magic, two big no no's. Of course, the fact that he knew black magic and had the necessary accoutrements "suggests" that his teacher the warden knew black magic, so they shouldn't be but so upset. But then, that's probably why Harry's still alive. In the books, it's clear that some people on the council believe him and some don't, and I guess the people that didn't wrote the report.

I also thought that there was good work with Morgan. Some of his issues with Harry stem from disappointment it seems, like when he says that once he would have taught Harry the trick with the eyes. Morgan's comments about the Morningways were interesting as well. Seems like Harry was behind the 8 Ball a little bit with Morgan just based on his family.
