A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
But, airing in the US means region 1 dvds with all the stuff from the UK airing back in.
The two aren't related -- home video is a separate department from the channel.
There goes my internal rationalization for why it was okay to ahem Torchwood. Please don't ask me about my internal rationalization for why it was okay to ahem Dr. Who.
You were saving yourself from the commercial reversioning! (Which I guess doesn't apply if you have BBCA On Demand, but um...yeah.)
Exactly, but they were much less likely to make or sell region one dvds w/o the show airing in the US.
I guess they could have made region 1 dvds to sell to Canada. Did it air in Canada already?
Also, BBCA airs Footballers Wives, does Torchwood really have as much that "couldn't" be aired here as Footballers Wives does?
Heads up Dresden Files watchers!
According to TV Guide Online, SciFi is showing two eps back to back on April 8 and April 15. A rerun airs at 9 and the new ep at 10.(Which puts it opposite Blood Ties. Grrr. Don't they realize people work on Monday mornings. Ah, well...dueling VCRs it is)
I guess Jake 2.0 didn't work in that spot. . . and they are clearly hoping to prevent people from going to Blood Ties.
Well, at least TAR's schedule won't mess it up as much.
You were saving yourself from the commercial reversioning!
Yeah, yeah! That's the ticket. Whew. Buffistas to the rationalization rescue.

This is not the case for Life on Mars (grrrrrrr)
I wonder if the fact that there is a US version of the show being created means no US release of the British dvds of Life on Mars.
IODVDN, I picked up the season 2 set of Twin Peaks today.
That's a damn fine cup of joe.

Doubt it. Didn't stop QAF or The Office.
Aww, I'll miss Keeping Up Appearances, though.
Yeah, but I’m sure that, like me, you’ve seen them all 5 times
Does BBC-A edit for content, or for time (or both)?
For time, it depends. Some shows yes, some no. Usually, they just add heaps of commercials. Take Clatterford (half hour sitcom), they show that for 40 minutes. But Eleventh Hour (1 hour drama), they add half an hour of commercials.
They usually just mute the cursing and cut nude scenes
Instead it's this semi-impassioned action that doesn't ring quite true.
Yeah, plus the books made it seem more self defense, which it didn’t really seem as cut and dried. I mean, Justin did throw a stake at his head, but Harry did have the voodoo doll in his hand.
