Yeah, and why would it have worked that way? Aside from upping the Sam angst....

hate to break it to you, Cindy, but 80s music has now been deemed "classic". just listen to your "oldies" stations. they include 80s now. makes me feel old.
But they're metal. Metal != Classic Rock. I don't care about the years so much as the music.
I will say, although this episode brought the emo (and the Queensryche!),
Which, you know, amuses me, as I had Jilli burn me a bunch of Queensryche for the casefile where I'm planning Mary Sueing my 'hood. So it's like my writing soundtrack got Kripked!

I think Jilli would argue that they're actually more on the Goth End of Things, as they wanted to be the Next Sisters of Mercy instead of the Next t Insert Metal Band Here .
But I'm not sure I buy that. Though it does tie into Jilli's Theory of Goth (American Style, for Women of a Certain Age).
Well, they were probably more of a progressive metal -- but still, they're not the stuff of classic rock. Umlaut or no.
I tend to agree with Cindy, despite my umlaut theory. There are boundaries to classic rock. Metallica kind of stretches those boundaries, even, because I think everybody in that band is, like, at most 35, and was in junior high when "classic rock" was busy happening. They're sort of a very strongly classically-oriented hard-rock band, but they are really not classic rock.
Then again, I am waiting and waiting for a Guns 'n' Roses song to show up on Supernatural, followed immediately by commentary on how scary-looking Axl Rose is now. So I'm not too strict about "all songs on the show will be classic rock."
Has anyone fannish come up with a SPN soundtrack/artist list? I've waffled about asking, cause I didn't know if it was Music or Boxed. Hell, I might have already asked and forgot.
Cause I'd like to start listening to more, and I don't think we really have the right station around here.
BTW, I was in Toledo last weekend and happened across the local classic rock station, and I had a little moment of "Bet this is where Kripke got his thing for classic rock." (I am so *ridiculous* for this show.)

Metallica\'s members are well into their 40s.
No porn intended.
James & Lars are both 43, 'tis true. They kinda look it, too. Metallica was formed in... '81?
I don't define Metallica as "classic rock", though they are a classic.

Kirk is 44. Newish bassist, Robert (the Suicidal Tendancies guy) is the youngest at 42.
I can see where Sam would want to wait a month, and I can see where she wouldn't. She's a killer. Killed more than one person. For a good person, that's hard to live with, and the fear of doing it again could drive someone to suicide.
I wonder if the boys have added anything to lore. I mean they go out and do the work, but have they learnt anything new to pass on to the other hunters?
