Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I just had to go look up On the Banks of the Tiber and Field of Mars.
I think I'm going to have to rewatch, maybe several times, before I can get past the rushed feeling, and access the emotion. It felt really jerky and pushed on first viewing, and as much as I love them, the emotion didn't really touch me. Maybe it's my headspace, dunno.
I was thinking I'd opt for taking the next three, three and a half weeks to research possible cures and having wild hot monkey sex before taking the suicide option.
Seriously! I was thinking, at least take one last month to live, you know.
And next week, Hollywood AD, no?
I hope the shoulders are made of tofurkey.
Eureka Marathon currently underway on Sciffy. Bummed that I came in part way through, but that's what iTunes is for. Still, glad they're giving it continued exposure to keep it on everyone's radar.
CFerg, if you're still out there it'd be cool to hear about filming progress, the pilot podcast and Season 1 DVD news. I'm really curious about whether the episodes will get restored to their original intended running order and where the webcast fits into the canon. Digging all of your hard work and looking forward to more of the same.
Is there some sort of meaning to the evisceration of the hearts in werewolf lore than I'm not remembering? Because we didn't see the werewolves eating them or collecting them in jars or decorating with them or anything. What was the point of ripping out the hearts?
Queensryche is not classic rock. Umlaut be damned.
I missed CSI: Miami, but I did page through TV Guide and saw a picture of our dear Colin with the Fortress of Solitude sticking out of his chest. The hell?
I've got Season 1 of TIM despite not even having of a region free player. I suppose Due South took decade(s) to get their DVD releases, perhaps we just need to wait one more measly decade before both seasons of The Darien & Bobby show come to a Region 1 player near us.
Caught a few random moments of the EUREKA marathon, and I've got to say that Jack Carter may be current favorite put-upon protagonist (HEROES being too much of an ensamble show to single one person out), and possibly may favorite since FARSCAPE left the air.
I don't think EUREKA'S reached those heights yet, but I think the first season was about as good as FARSCAPE'S first, and there's loads of potential.
I'm very excited about Eureka's second season, what with the "darker" tone I keep reading about. I wonder, with Andrew Cosby gone, not to speak ill of him, if some of those "because it's cool!" will disappear (in terms of filming choices that left me going "huh?").
Also very excited about something I've been waiting for since season 1. Casting announcements is spoilers lite, yes? White font? Black font?
"Werewolves can be destroyed by shooting with a silver bullet or arrow, decapitation, or removal of the heart."
From here.
From this I assume that werewolves who are hunting prey for food remove the heart so their victims don't survive and become werewolves themselves. Hunting ground territorial squabbles would undoubtedly ensue.
I'm just amused that the boys, in the midst of their angst, forgot that they just left two bodies, both shot with Dean's gun, and the victims neighbors, and one of them in an apartment pretty much covered with Sam's fingerprints and DNA.
Oh, and depending on the physical evidence, they might even make an argument for rape. Or not. There will be evidence of Madison being restrained.
If I were a homicide cop in SF, I'd be getting a visit from Agent Hendrickson right away.
