Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Caught a few random moments of the EUREKA marathon, and I've got to say that Jack Carter may be current favorite put-upon protagonist (HEROES being too much of an ensamble show to single one person out), and possibly may favorite since FARSCAPE left the air.

I don't think EUREKA'S reached those heights yet, but I think the first season was about as good as FARSCAPE'S first, and there's loads of potential.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I'm very excited about Eureka's second season, what with the "darker" tone I keep reading about. I wonder, with Andrew Cosby gone, not to speak ill of him, if some of those "because it's cool!" will disappear (in terms of filming choices that left me going "huh?").

Also very excited about something I've been waiting for since season 1. Casting announcements is spoilers lite, yes? White font? Black font?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"Werewolves can be destroyed by shooting with a silver bullet or arrow, decapitation, or removal of the heart."

From here.

From this I assume that werewolves who are hunting prey for food remove the heart so their victims don't survive and become werewolves themselves. Hunting ground territorial squabbles would undoubtedly ensue.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm just amused that the boys, in the midst of their angst, forgot that they just left two bodies, both shot with Dean's gun, and the victims neighbors, and one of them in an apartment pretty much covered with Sam's fingerprints and DNA.

Oh, and depending on the physical evidence, they might even make an argument for rape. Or not. There will be evidence of Madison being restrained.

If I were a homicide cop in SF, I'd be getting a visit from Agent Hendrickson right away.

Heh, 'Suela. Ignipes wrote a coda to deal with some of that.

Is it kosher to link it here?

Oh, I just read that. Go Ignipes!

Still, I don't know whether to trust the show's writers to remember all that, or not. They've somewhat inconsistent on that order.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

it was Queensryche, Nutty. Silent Lucidity to be specific...

Oh, that's deeply funny.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, I can now report that the CW episode player works very well indeed and has only two short commercial breaks.

And at the end? I almost cried and then immediately thought, "more water pictures for the water pic-spam." When I watch this on an actual tv, I hope to be more drawn in!

So, the heart thing is part of regular werewolf canon? I guess that's something that Buffy didn't bother with. (While we were watching Phases earlier this week, I so wanted to say how appropriate it was but you know, spoilerly.)

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, and I had thought that this episode was going to be deeply arc-y, but I think that you could probably watch it w/o getting the arcier things and be good, don't you?

Art Crawl!!!

Okay, Patrick Currie was Enzo in "The Passage" -- did he play the ex in "Heart"?
