A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
But wasn't most of the population already down on the planet?
Not yet, IIRC -- until Baltar announced the permanent settlement, they'd been restricting the numbers of who could be on-planet at any time pretty strictly (because they were just landing shuttles, not ships).
But if Roslin had remained President, I'm sure she would have either packed everyone off to keep moving, or, less likely, told those that wanted to remain planetside that the fleet would move on without them. I really think she would have forced the fleet to stay together, and we'd have gotten a bit of a civil unrest/war between those who wanted to stay and those willing to push on to Earth. Because I can't see Roslin being willing to split up the remnants of humanity and lose valuable ships and manpower with those who would choose to remain on New Caprica.
Loved Lee's fear as Laura pushed him to ask her why she was using chamalla again. Like he suddenly knew the answer and didn't want to hear it.
But boy oh boy, was Roslin a big B I T C H this ep!
And I really love how Adama is a big fat enabler with Tigh /sarcasm. Tigh can do no wrong no matter how badly he screws up, unlike other characters who get written off in his book *still has some love for Lee left*
The gazing between Tori and Anders? Hot. If D'Lee had had some of those moments leading up to their affair and marriage, maybe it would have sold better (or sold at all). The two moments we got for them left me cold.
So, I'm listening to the Galactica Watercooler podcast. And yes -- they brought up what I was thinking about that music w/more, you know, conciseness: what if everyone who hears the music is somebody who was at one time or another in Cylon prison on New Caprica and has been implanted with some sort of tracking device.
We don't know that Tory has been in custody but both Tigh and Anders have.
Oh, and if Scifi had aired "Storm Front" first, then Zenkitty would not have had a question to ask. (Well, I guess that I'm assuming that twol-clad Harry screencaps will make their way to the 'net.)

I guess that's one good thing to come out of this ep!
As juliebird said, Mister is Harry's 30 pound tom cat. (Though in the books he's grey and bob-tailed.)
The Blue Beetle is Harry's battered VW bug car from the books, which due to Harry's assorted misadventures is no longer really blue, but the name stuck. In the show, it was replaced by the Jeep because filming in a bug, particularly with a 6'4" actor, is a PITA. So the pilot featured a shot of the Beetle in the shop as a nod to the fans.
I agree, all the book shoutouts felt random and out of place coming this late into the run, especially since they're inconsistent with what we've otherwise seen. If they weren't going to show this as the obvious pilot, they should have-I hate to say it-pulled a Fox and showed it at the end of the season as a "special movie event".
Okay, this is the week where Chicagoistas aren't getting Supernatural until Saturday, right?
I'm trying to prepare myself.
Yes.
Sadly.
Did you SEE the Director's cuts?
Moi? No. I actually don't think I've seen any of them. No time.
Usually at this point in a BSG season (or half-season), the sag is gone and the writing is as tight as it could be, but I'm just not feeling it right now. They're writing Adama as erratic and uncharacteristic as this show ever has (and usually if they need a character to act outside their usual manner, it only lasts for an episode instead of three or four or however many it's been that Adama has been off), and the whole Dee thing was shoehorned in without any sort of preparation. I like Lee being the person to bring Roslin off her high horse in theory, but the execution was a little sloppy. Even next week's revelation (and this is unspoiled speculation) that Tory, Anders, and Tigh are Cylons and that Lee is all the sudden a smart hot-shot attorney (ok, the pinstripe suit was a funny touch) probably won't help this problem, but will only distract from it.
