No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

until this ep shows it's relevance within the series, I'm going to pretend that this Storm Front was an easter egg

And a somewhat cracked one at that.

I think if they'd kept it at two hours, it would have been a lot more with the sense making. Also, I would have gladly sacrificed the 5 minutes of screentime we got from Ancient Mai for something actually relevant.

Hell, I think we may have been better served by 5 minutes of Mister cleaning himself.

I really hope all this Ancient Mai stuff actually amounts to something, because right now she's simply playing the boogeyman, something Morgan can already accomplish, and in a less annoying fashion.

ETA:

I liked seeing Mister. And really, didn't it seem like they blew their entire special effects budget on this episode? It was nutty.

Well, the two hour version of Storm Front was original shot as a TV movie, with the possibility of it becoming a series, so I'd assume its budget was separate.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, and Admiral Adama was being such an ass to Lee that I wondered if he was doing it on purpose to get Lee to resign because he knows that Lee is being played.

Art Crawl!!!

And I loved Roslin's bitchy comment to Tory about "finding someone who can pull a comb through their hair once a week."

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

What bothered me a little was when the Defense Attorney said that Baltar saved them by surrendering to the Cylons. That if Roslin were president, they would have been dead.

Well, they needed to include a line that if Roslin had been president, they wouldn't have camped out at New Caprica in the first fucking place.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Mister is the cat?

Also loved the bit with the Blue Beetle in the shop.

The who with the what now?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Jon, there were a lot of direct-from the books moments that were included in this ep but never explained for those who've never read the books.

Mister is Harry's cat
the Blue Beatle is apparently the not so blue VW bug Harry was poking under
They actually *showed* the (cheesy) wards protecting his house and coming from his bracelet.
The candles flaring a foot high were great because they were his alarm system.

Which is all nice for bookfans to see (Where's Waldo?!), but they're not seen since in the half-season we've gotten or explained/established within the show, so basically they're a big waste of screentime.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Was this last Dresden ep actually the pilot? (I haven't seen it yet.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

it was supposed to be a 2-hour movie, Theo, that would have stood independently in hopes it would function as a pilot.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I really hope all this Ancient Mai stuff actually amounts to something, because right now she's simply playing the boogeyman, something Morgan can already accomplish, and in a less annoying fashion.

I suspect that they want to change the relationship with Harry and Morgan, so they need a boogey man if Harry and Morgan are going to work together more.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

What would you all have thought if they framed the episode differently and scripted it as a "flashback" episode? That could have fixed a few of the problems in "Stormfront."
