A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I think the reason Dean was off was summed up in his "I don't like 'em," shot when Sam was trying to explain where ghosts go to Molly. He was avoiding her, and thus us, since the POV was mostly Molly and Sam. Also? His hair is too short. Makes his head look too big.
Sam's getting too old-big-mature looking for the furrowed puppy brow thing to work any more.
Yeah, I was eh on the ep, too. If SPN gets cancelled, I think the best "year" of the show will be the last half of S1 and the first half of S2. Tall Tales was fun as hell, but my appetite was whetted by Houses of the Holy and Born Under a Bad Sign, and I'm ready for more meaty stuff. Or fun stuff. Tonight wasn't really either.
Wasn't part of the reason for doing the outsider POV ep here to give JA and JP a bit of a breather? Seem to recall seeing that.

It was, really.
Well, I know their schedule is killing, and other than hiring a secondary cast to trade off episodes with, I don't know what can be done about that. I hate to think of anybody working +/- 80 hour weeks outside in Vancouver weather six days a week for months.
But I want my show, too. Tis a quandry.
They could have their cousins, Coy and Vance, do a few episodes.
Or Plei's (right?) idea about the urban hunters....
(worriedly pets the show, thinking maybe she should drag out watching S2 to make it last...)
See, I think it could work. You team Jo up with somebody--the older woman reading tarot on the bar at Harvelle's in Hunted, say, or someone like her. There's a postcards fic about that very thing that I think would play if handled right. You hand over a third of a season's episodes to the B Team, and let those boys get some R&R so they don't burn out and start to hate their jobs.
I don't know. Hardcore J&J fans would be annoyed to incensed, but show fans might buy it.
show fans might buy it
If they made it make sense to the characters, I'd buy it. (Biased, but you know.) And a little B action in the show might make the network happy about "branching out" with the show and getting more audience.
Padalecki must have had a doozy of a sinus cold when they were filming.
IIRC, this was the last episode filmed before Christmas, and the weather was wretched. I did notice throughout that it was an episode of three thin people, wearing inadequate clothing, not bothering to cover up when standing around in the rain.
Pneumonia for everybody!!*
You would think after years and years on the road the Winchesters would at least understand the purpose of the hoodie, you know? If they are too manly for umbrellas, I mean.
- I await the "miserable brothers with the same cold" episode with bated breath. They would be the crankiest sick people in the galaxy, and that would be hilarious.
Demian from TWOP succcintly summarized how I felt about the episode in his recaplet:
In the end, Molly accepts her fate, of course, and vanishes into the sunrise, leaving Our Dear Boys to muse about the nature of hope, or something like that. It is, at its heart, a nice little ghost story, indeed, and the role of Molly was beautifully acted by Tricia Helfer of Galactica fame, but seriously. Yaaaaaawn.
Heh.

But if they covered their heads we couldn't see all the angst. Plus, it would probably mess with the peripheral vision.
A mutually sick episode would be hilarious.
