Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Yeah, this episode didn't pull at my tear ducts like last week, but it definitely brought some good HSQ. Never a dull moment.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Peter. Is. Not. Dead.

No, but that's gonna leave a scar ...

Yes, but can he heal his HAIR??

Claire can heal hers ...

Grandma Petrelli and the Haitian!

I owe everybody to whom I disbelieved this connection an apology.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I LOVE THIS FUCKING SHOW

Yeah, and there was the preview.

Hey, for those who hate the floppy hair, he gets a haircut!

I'm actually glad for the hiatus. I'm not sure if it is me getting another bout of tv-avoidance or what, but I am feeling a little dragged along, waiting for something to happen. Which sounds funny, but ...One thing I've always, consistently enjoyed (Xfiles when it wasn't insane, Buffy, Angel, Firefly to speak of dead shows familiar here) is one small plot resolving in an ep while the greater arc just gets advanced. Heros doesn't so much do the smaller plot, and I could tire of that, I think.

I wait to open ALL my presents at once. Even if it means not opening them when I get them. I want a complete story in a gulp, even if it isn't The Story.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

No, but that's gonna leave a scar ...

I was gonna say that Claire doesn't have scars so why should Peter get one, and then I remembered the reference. Nice catch, Victor!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Oh, the scar! Of course.

Man, this was such a great episode. I totally LOVED Mama Bennet -- she's become one of my very favorite characters. And it was FANTASTIC to see Grandma Petrelli (whose name I've forgotten, if we ever learned it) working with the Haitian (whose name I can't believe we still don't know) and to realize how long she's been involved, and how deeply. Must go back and rewatch the scene where she's talking to Nathan about Claire, now.

Also, gah, Mohinder on the ceiling! Don't die! Or catch on fire!

I totally went there too.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Mama Petrelli! With the Haitian!

That totally made my night. Linderman vs. Petrelli matriarch -- it's very The Stand. And Nathan caving into his ambition. Oh, Nathan.

Candice was lifted wholesale from Mystique, but it's OK, because I love Mystique.

Poor Bennet. So screwed.

I laughed for full 10 minutest straight at the emo-bang-ectomy. That's gotta HURT, man.

That may have been my favorite part of the episode.
