One of my favorite memories is my little Julia (I think she was 2 and a half) patting me on the bum (because that's what she could reach) and saying, "Mommy, I torry Bucky died."
Now that's a proper fanchild response. Well done, Cindy, well done. I had to send mine to bed so I could sniffle over Starbuck in peace. (Then again, she's long past cute... Mine, I mean, not Starbuck :) Also, so I could come here where the sane people would remind me that nobody really dies in genre till the last ep airs. And sometimes, not even then.

Some interesting bits culled from a TWoP poster's notes on the podcast:
Wow...
On the Maelstrom podcast RDM is certainly persuading me that Starbuck's definitely, totally, really dead.
Talking about how Katee took the news, and how they just arbitrarily made the decision to kill her in the writers' room.
That's actually quite shocking.
Or he's just a reallllllly good faker.
Later:
I just finished listening to the Podcast. Here are a few highlights... or from my POV....lowlights:
They knew! They knew that they would crush the fan base. They fed on the audacity of killing Starbuck like sharks in a feeding frenzy.... Ron admits that it was purely for shock value. Originally, they were going to make it a Kara-centric episode where she "faces an obstacle and overcomes it", where she almost dies but pulls out the last minute and realizes her destiny. Then they thought, "hey, what if we really killed her."
Here are more direct quotesA:
Eddy (Edward James Olmos) reaction to the script: "The show will never be the same again" The cast was stunned and upset because they're like a family.
Eddy, being in the moment, destroys the model ship, a genuine museum quality ship worth hundreds of thousand of dollars which they were renting. He "just did it", "just felt it". Good for you Eddy! Now, that's an audacity I can live with!!!!
MrsRon then says: "Ok get up off the floor, Kara fans, don't abandon ship"
Ron says: "Stick with us boys and girls We have quite a tale to tell, still."
Hi and welcome fialka! I don't believe we have posted together before.
It is likely a good thing that I won't watch BSG until tonight. Now I have the itain'treallyso thoughts to take with me into the show. Granted Starbuck has pissed me off more than pleased me this season. But still, I like her character on my screen each week.
Who played Kara's mother?
And the woman who was the oracle was also Sherri in "Night Shitfter".
And these are the IMDB's keywords for Supernatural:
Brother Brother Relationship
Suspense
Brother
Missing Father
Ghost Hunter
Supernatural
I like Evil Robot and Robot As Menace.
Hi back, Laura! I've been around awhile, but I tend to lurk in the shadows -- I think I post an average of once a year, generally occasioned by cancellation, character death, or other catastrophic events :)
Psst... you should take this time to rent S1 of the Boy/Boy Melodrama (as Certain People Involved With the Show Have Dubbed It).
You know, I meant to suggest that as a birthday present, and then forgot. Maybe I will.
(I mean, I just want you and Buffy to understand who and what took her place as the One True Character in my heart, you know.)
Buffy is very Sensitive About That, Plei. I think she's wishing really hard that he be your One True TV Brother, or something. Wait. Now she's comparing you to Angel and you-know-who to Faith. This never ends well.
Pleeeeeeeeei. You're making me embarrassed to love said show, you know.
They don't mean the slash like THAT!
Good, because I'm telling you, that kept me away for part of the time. We actually started to watch it in season one, but kept forgetting to record it, or had a scheduling conflict, or something.
Thank you, fialka. And are you newish, or have I just managed to miss you, until now? Either way, welcome.

I keep bouncing between sayitisn'tso and IThinkItReallyIs.
P-C, that podcast thing is making me even more unsettled. If I hadn't been reading about people dumping all over Rob Thomas for the last couple of weeks, I might say something like, "I want to slap Ron D. Moore," but that wouldn't be proper.
Who played Kara's mother?
I was trying to figure that out, last night. I couldn't find the info. on IMDB, today. I want to say her name is Diane something-or-other, but I could be making that up.
Not only do I miss Buffy and Angel, but I also miss the massive spoiler machine that went with them.

Heh. I understand the inclination. And the hesitation.
