OLN is changing its name to VS (Versus).

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
In OLN's case, I approve -- people watch it for bike racing and hockey playoffs, not the huntin' an' fishin' that they show at odder and odder hours; it's a sports network now, however dumb the new name.
But people watch SciFi for... SciFi. So, huh?
I've never even heard of OLN.
I wonder if the people who wrote that release are aware of how closely it represents an Onion article.
I was thinking the same thing. There's nothing about a change on the Sci-Fi site.

That can't be good...
Pretty soon, all 500 cable channels will be exactly the same.
Network 23?
OLN covers the Tour de France. I also saw darts on there a couple of nights ago. I didn't even know it was legal to show a dart competition anywhere outside of Great Britain.
I became fascinated with darts when I was in London for two weeks in January 2004 and 2005. It took me three days alone to figure out the scoring.
Yeah, that article says that it's moving away from "nerd tv". . . does this mean no more BSG? Doctor Who? Eureka?
What about the Dresden Files -- I want to see that!
I'm praying it's a joke. There can't be more money in wrestling than in geeks. There just can't be.
Wrestling settled down to roughly Eureka/ last seasons's BSG/SG-1/SGA-level ratings, didn't it? Seems to me there are still more nerds watching the channel than beer-swilling wrestling fans. Which the execs should keep in mind, however uncomfortable they are with the network's image.

How big is this span? My memory's telling me BSG was 1.71, for some reason, but I'm not sure if that was the season average or what. From the cancellation news, I'm assuming that SG1 was notably lower.
