A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
But I wonder if he can use his empathy to project the healing ability elsewhere?
I was wondering the same thing. It would be kind of cool if his being a nurse affected his use of his powers (or was an unconcious expression of his as-yet untapped and even un-acquired abilities, if destiny is involved).
Zenkitty, I was just over there and started laughing so hard and worrying that I'd actually have to pay. Thank goodness I didn't specify with
what!
Maybe Murphy has extensions (I'm beginning to suspect Claire's perfect long curls that drape over her shoulders are extensions as well)?
Or, wait--now I'm confused, did Claire use her power in front of Peter or not? I can't recall. But it would make it interesting if Peter had access to all of the same powers Sylar had.
I thought that peter just had to touch a person to absorb their powers. He touched Claire, he fought with Sylar. It may be that not all of Sylar’s powers have manifested in Peter because he doesn’t know that they’re there. I mean, I
could
be telekinetic, it just wouldn’t occur to me try to move something with my mind.
Of course, I hope it doesn't end up like Witchblade, which got unceremoniously cancelled after a confusing and poor second season (though it was a rocking first season!)
aww, I miss Witchblade
there were times when I started to wonder if he was going to reform, just from being with Mohinder
I really like the way that Sylar really took on Zane's personality and mannerisms.
I thought it was interesting that Sylar talked about murder when Dale asked what she heard in his heart (and was that foreshadowing?). Before, I thought of him as mentally disturbed guy who found some sort of justification or purpose in what he was doing. He seemed malevolent, whereas, I'd thought that he thought of his actions as a "necessary" evil. I'm not being very articulate.

He didn't have to touch Claude to see him, and I don't think he and Matt touched when Matt was trying to read his mind and vice versa.

Yes! It really struck me how like his speech patterns were to what we saw of the real Zane's. There's no real reason for him to do that - Mohinder didn't know Zane and isn't the least bit suspicious - but it's a nice, thorough touch.
I think he enjoys the process of killing the other supers and taking their powers, as well as thinking he has an imperative of some sort to do it. He reveled in making Mrs. Bennett afraid.
I think he just has to be in their presence AND he doesn't need to be aware of it -- I mean, didn't he toss locker doors w/o realizing that Sylar had that power?
I wonder if Sylar takes more than just their powers, maybe he does in fact absorb some of their personalities/mannerisms as well?
As part of how their brain works, yeah? T'would make sense. I do wonder if he'll overload at some point (assuming the hearing thing doesn't do him in, in whatever way)
Just finished my re-read of Dead Beat. I love that book.
"When you do something stupid and die, it's pathetic. When you do something stupid and survive it, then you get to call it impressive or heroic."
"What we're doing right now...It's pathetic. Isn't it?"
"Probably."
Did you see the "Ask questions for PB" thread?
No. I'm not seeing it on Jim Butcher's site. Is it on the Sci-Fi forums? Because they scare me. As rambling and frightening as some of the posters on Jim's site can be, some of the posters on the Sci-Fi forums seem ten times worse.
And Terrence Mann seems like a really nice guy.
Yeah. He seemed just as thrilled to meet Jim as the latter was to meet him.
Dresden: I hope they get more time/budget to get more exterior Chicago establishing shots and really make it their own.
Definitely. Early on, Robert Wolfe was hoping they could at least do the occaisional scene in Chicago, like ER does, if not actually film there regularly (Chicago's been doing some incentives to encourage filming in the city, but apparently Toronto is still a good deal cheaper.) but for season 1 it just wasn't in the budget.

it IS pretty scary over there --they make even *me* look mature, which is saying something.

Also, love that exchange between Harry and
Thomas
!
Long live Sue! And polka! (I've been wanting to ask Jim if his "too pretty to die" was a FF reference)
Here's to season 2!
