I guess, that the smoking wasn't Sam's skin burning but the demonic essence inside of him.

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Reasons Why Dean Would Keep the GPS Off
1. They're still in theory trying to low-profile it.
2. No reason during the first week to suspect Sam was doing anything bad.
3. Dean's initially walking that fine line between needing to find Sam, and not driving him further away.
We've never really been given evidence that anything happens to the host body of a possessing demon when splashed with holy water. Aside from the smoke/steam and the possessee reacting in pain, there's been no visible effect in the form of burns or lesions or the like. And Sam and Dean were willing to risk splashing holy water on their father when he was obviously hurt to (unsuccessfuly) try to determine if he was possessed. The idea that it doesn't harm the host doesn't seem to go against what we've seen so far.
On the flipside, we know from Meg that a possessed person can shrug off mortal injury due the demonic influence, but the body is still damaged, and once the demon leaves, the host dies if the wounds were fatal. (I have no idea if, should the demon remain in possession for long enough, the host body can eventually heal from otherwise fatal wounds.)
Well, there's a huge difference between being splashed with water - which is how an unpossessed person would experience it - and being thrown out of a 5th story window. The demon reacts to these things in the opposite way the person does.
Lifetime has started advertising "Blood Ties." I only saw the one commercial, so it's hard to make an informed judgment as to quality. But I really enjoyed the books, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the series turns out. (I got the impression from the quick glimpses during the commercial that Henry looks young, of course, and has curly hair.)
The series starts March 11th.
GF and I finally started watching S1 of Supernatural a couple of weeks ago. We watched Asylum last night. Dude. I was freaking out. I like the Jensen Ackles. So far, not so much love for Padalecki. He always has his mouth hanging open like "Der!"
Padalecki grows on a person. He's improved a lot this season.
And lord save me, I'm starting to think of him as attractive. This, I will state, is new as of about three or four episodes ago.

That didn't start for me until the last ep. I'm not sure what that says about me, but there it is.
He still needs a haircut though.
Lee and I share a brain. J-Pad did nothing for me until this last epsiode. I'd really like to see him go completely and utterly evol for at least 3 or 4 episodes to wallow in the Jack Nicholsonesque grin when he's being all evol.

I am sad that it's up against BSG BUT BSG will be more than halfway done when it starts so it will only be conflicty for a few weeks.
(Being a Gilmore Girls fan and having only seen JA in Smallville prior to SPN - it's funny to me to see how many people felt nothing for JP prior to now. Because JP was one of the attractions of the show for me - and I was worried about JA . . . but Smallville must have some powerful bad acting mojo that prevents people from outshining TW . . . because JA was such a pleasant surprise as Dean.)
