I started watching season 1 on DVD. Pilot episode--DH is gone, working out at the gym at 11:30 p.m. Kids (ages, nearly 3 and 1) are upstairs in bed. I had to stop the episode about a million times to go upstairs and check out every thumping noise. When I saw the shadow of Liv's mobile above her crib in the darkened room, I nearly peed my pants.

The on/off Sam flickering was just amazing. And for the first time I really *got* just how big JP is, how powerful he could be if he wasn't all playing puppy and making himself small and inoffensive. He was physically intimidating, and the speed of persona change was just very well done, I thought.
