Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

But it seems like the ... gnnng, throw-away isn't quite the right word, but it's close ... anyway, the throw-away walk-on characters who are playing "1st Victim" seem to be mostly brunettes.

Red Shirts?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

but he's not anywhere near the demon so many people portray him as.

No. He's majorly obsessed with finding the thing that killed his wife, but he's also fiercely protective of the family he's got left. If he can do both at once, it satisfies both needs.

I got to thinking more about Sam's prayer issue last night and I have to say I now believe it's very possible that he's been praying all along. When I think these things through, I have to compare what's going on in the characters life/head to what I know of my life. It's just the way I work. I didn't find out until I was in my mid-20s that my father even believed in God, much less prayed. We never went to church, but it turns out that it didn't stop my father from praying. He told me once that when my brothers were younger he would go into their bedroom every night to pray over them. I think John could have very well done something like this himself and I think Sam, too, could have done it because it wasn't necessarily talked about. Not something to be kept secret, per se, but just one of tthose hings that it's understood you don't talk about.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Re: Prayer

I didn't have an issue with Sam saying he prays. It fits the character for me, and as for Dean not knowing, I can easily see it never being discussed. Praying doesn't always have to be on your knees, hands clasped together. A lot of times my own praying is taking a few minutes to stop and commune quietly with God. As someone up top said, that kind of prayer can easily be seen as being contemplative by those around you.

In Dresden Files news, I know Zenkitty and others were curious about who could see Bob. Robert Wolfe confirmed the other day that he's visible to everyone. (Which is why he went to hide in his skull when Murphy showed up last episode.) He's also incapable of touching anything, though I don't recall that being a question here.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Dammit, Jake 2.0 was awesome! I wish it had lasted. sumi, check out the plan to the end the series. Also, I just realized that (Heroes not-really-a-spoiler-if-you-follow-the-online-stuff) Hana is basically Jake!

I see I've got several episodes of Jake 2.0 on my DVR that I didn't see in the original run. I will have to make time to watch them sometime this week.

However, I'm with P-C in regards to his whitefont. I was thinking the same thing when I was reading the Heroes comics.

The unaired episodes are great, Kalshane! I can't believe they yanked the show in the middle of a two-parter.

Art Crawl!!!

P-C! I thought that the last three episodes were really good. Particularly the second to last one where he has amnesia.

ETA: I just read what the ending would have been -- how cool!!! And I totally agree with what you said about the Heroes thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shit--they showed unaired episodes? I keep missing TV I'd have wanted to watch!

Well, they're ahemable, as they were aired overseas.
