Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Art Crawl!!!

P-C! I thought that the last three episodes were really good. Particularly the second to last one where he has amnesia.

ETA: I just read what the ending would have been -- how cool!!! And I totally agree with what you said about the Heroes thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shit--they showed unaired episodes? I keep missing TV I'd have wanted to watch!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Well, they're ahemable, as they were aired overseas.

I'm with sumi and P-C; really enjoying Jake 2.0. Where'd you read how it was supposed to end, sumi? Now I'm curious.

It's in my post.

Don't read until you've watched all the episodes, but Javi explains it all.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I'm watching some BSG Season 3 episodes thanks to the lovely sumi. So, I keep hearing the opening theme over and over. And I have a question about it. The voices are singing something, does anyone have any idea if it is real words or not?

The fracking SciFi site is giving me no help, nor is IMDB any ideas?

In fact, I have the same question about StarGate:Atlantis's theme, too.

Thanks, P-C. Need to figure out whether I've seen them all. I've been watching pretty haphazardly.

Art Crawl!!!

The Main Title music used in Season 2 was the Main Title Music that they used in the UK in season one. I found the lyrics and translations at tviv.org:

The lyrics for this song are in Sanskrit—they are the Gayatri mantra, the most revered mantra in Hinduism. This was the UK main theme song for season 1, and as of S2E01 it became the main theme of the US version as well.

OM bhūr bhuvah svah
tat savitur varēnyam
> bhargō dēvasya dhīmahi
dhiyō yō nah pracōdayāt

This can be translated in many different ways, and one of the possible translations is:

O earth, atmosphere, heaven:
May we attain that excellent glory of Savitr the God:
So may he stimulate our prayers

(Trying to fix the formatting.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Damnit, it looks like SciFi is going to stop running Heroes on Friday nights. (Or at least, my Tivo doesn't see any upcoming eps.) Does it repeat any other time that people know of? I don't want to give up 24...
