A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I got my first disc of SPN season 1 in the mail today!
Yay! What all is on disc one? Pilot, Wendigo, Dead in the Water...
Ah! Phantom Traveler. Which I have an unreasonable fondness for, even given my general unreasonable Supernatural fondness.
A solid selection.
Disc 3 is when things really start to get good.
Dean being afraid to fly. Comedy gold. Especially considering Sam's later clown phobia, which I share. ("At least I'm not afraid to fly." "Planes crash!" "And apparently clowns kill!")
I'll have to mainline the three eps this weekend. I don't know if DH is on the SPN train. He asked me what it was about and I said, "Two brothers search for their father while battling the hellish forces of evil. And did I mention they're hot?"
He said, "Of course they are."
Phantom Traveler is pretty funny. "You hum Metallica?"
"And apparently clowns kill!"
Sam was so happy to say that, too! Hilarious.
Humming Metallica to calm himself! It's priceless!
Jilli kind of rolled her eyes at me for it, but... but... homemade tools! Suits! Airplane fear! Awesome brotherly interaction!
Christina Cox was pinging for me. I realized on IMDBing her that it's because she was in two episodes of Due South. (Free Willie and Vault.)
Cashmere's gonna drink the Kool Aid. YAY!
Phantom Traveler is pretty funny.
I think "Phantom Traveler" is when I began to grasp the enormity of what the Winchesters were doing. The fact that they were literally putting their lives on the line, just to save other people. Once they knew what was going on, they were
compelled
to stop it, whatever the risk.

I keep trying to explain it to people. But perhaps if you said, "Okay, so, you know how in BtVS, the metaphor was 'high school is hell?' Well, in Supernatural, it's 'family is hell.' Oh, and the boys? Hot." it might work.
So I got my first disc of SPN from Netflix yeaterday-- I've been watching S2 as it airs, but I've yet to see most of S1. And, oh man, I am hooked. Hooked so bad, oh lord. This show-- this could get to be as good as X-Files ever got, or better, couldn't it?
