"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

As much as I love the Arms of Apollo, my BSG boyfriends remain Gaelin Tyrol and Felix Gaeta, with Karl Agathon for eye candy (Tahmoh is just too damn pretty!).

nods.

Although I do do do heart Jamie Bamber. British! And American! Simultaneously! Good job, that boy! But I love The Chief beyond the telling of it. Love. Love love love. And Gaeta! Love!

(Must say, though, that I do rather regret The Chief getting together with Cally. I don't hate it, and it's plausible and all, but it feels like her character had been a passably rounded and interesting individual, and I'd never read their relationship as romantic - just that he was The Chief and he looked after his people, damn it. And now she feels more like an adjunct to his character, and he feels a wee bit diminished. Um. But this may just be my thing.)

Meanwhile, I'm loving the spoily Heroes talk. Not quite as good as getting to see the episode, obviously, but I'm still all Yay!

Hiro is my Super Seekrit Celebrity Boyfriend. Yes.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Hiro is my Super Seekrit Celebrity Boyfriend

Mine, too. He's just too cute.

So, I was rewatching episodes and watching some I'd missed the first time around. In "Six Months Ago" it seemed to me that a lot of the heroes didn't start manifesting their powers until Hiro went back in time. It's hard to say and I'm basing it almost solely on something Charlie said. I may have to go back and verify, but in both "Six Months Ago" and in "Nothing to Hide" Charlie says that she started remembering everything she read or heard recently. It makes me wonder how recently is recently? It seems, before she met Hiro in NtH, she only started manisfesting within the last few weeks, and then the same in SMA she started showing her power a few weeks before Hiro showed up that time, too. Then maybe Hiro is some sort of catalyst. And/or, by pushing his timeline and abilities back six months before he first knew he had them, he pushed everyone else's timeline of manifesting powers back six months. Perhaps that's why the dude with telekinesis that was Sylar's first victim was "broken." Hiro's popping around in time has affected everyone else's powers. This could be all stuff you guys already hashed out, I skimmed when these episodes originally aired because I didn't get to see them then. Any thoughts?

Our wings are not tired.

Something set off the powers. Each of the characters we have seen developed their powers recently. I think I will just have to rewatch from the beginning to search for clues.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Something set off the powers.

The clip and the comic give a very strong indication of what that something is.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Still hating Cally with 1,000 burning suns-hate. Can't get past it. Can't let it go. Hate her so much I hated her Fixit character in DA, which I saw after BSG. Hate that Tyrol married and spawned with the person who shot the toaster he loved, because she was a weepy, jealous little mess, using the fact that Boomer!Sharon was a Cylon as validation for her freakshow.

Er. Issues much? Sorry. Cally always annoyed me before she went all clingy to Tyrol on Kobol.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a hate-on for Cally too, Beverly. Not as well-articulated as yours, but I nodded like hell at your post.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ficcers and vidders take note - it's canon now...

Mrs Ron: I notice none of the women are sweating...
RDM: Yeah, well they're not in love with each other the way those two are.

(From the podcast, on the extreme shiny sweatiness of Anders and Lee in the tent.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Well, at least it's canon as far as Mrs. Ron is concerned.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The clip and the comic give a very strong indication of what that something is.

Wasn't somebody's kid talking about/making an eclipse viewer ? I have no idea where I got that, if it wasn't on the show, but feel I should whitefont.

Our wings are not tired.

Must have been on the show Vortex, because I saw that too.

Still hating Cally with 1,000 burning suns-hate.

Guess I wasn't the only one hoping she got shot by the Cylons. Heh.
