A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I think the guy getting hung started the drinking.
I think so too, but yeah, it was badly paced in there, so it looked like it was only ten minutes later and Sam was hammered. Could have used a little more lead-in.
Still, I enjoyed it. And really that's all that matters.

A few general spoilers, and some fun commentary. I loved the bit about how Mulder and Scully would interact with Dean and Sam.
There's something kind of charming in how explicit SPN is with a: the fanservice; and b: the huge honking allegorical anvils.
I did think the drunken Sam pacing was off, but will forgive it for the tortured Sam out the window shot. Which you bet your butt I'm gonna screencap.
For about 2 seconds, at the beginning of that scene, I thought Sam was possessed by the spirit of the (at that point still unseen) grandmother.
Me too! I was very confused. Also, I thought it was morning or early afternoonish -- I thought it was right after the body was taken away.
Sasquatch! hee!
Also, as someone on LJ pointed out, JP wasn't really that good at showing us Sam was drunk. I too thought he was possessed or something, maybe stoned.
Also, written by Steve DeKnight.
This means nothing anymore, as he's written some
awful
SV episodes.
I think it's the best Smallville I've seen in eons. I'm not a huge Smallville fan, though, so my opinion may be skewed.
This is true, however, and I've been watching for years. The best episode in ages. They should just cancel the show and do a Justice League spinoff.

Oh yeah. He was terrible at acting drunk; I thought he was possessed too.
Why the hell would anyone put someone who had recently had a stroke and who was confined to a wheelchair at the tippy-top of a huge monstrosity that apparently doesn't have an elevator?)
Were they Southern? We have a time-honored tradition of keeping inconvenient relations in the attic...
I thought it was New England.
Silly drunken Sam. Lightweight!
But still,
oh, Dean!
Your family needs to stop trying to get you to kill them.

I think this was key for me. Drunk wasn't the first thing that came to mind-- possessed was, and then stoned, so by the time the drunk came up, it seemed off.
Twas funny though.
Where was the Sasquatch comment? I missed it.
