Art Crawl!!!

Well, I really didn't watch Who prior to Christopher Eccleston - - where does that leave me? I liked the first part of season 2 and then felt it got weak in the m iddle and the end was okay.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

actually, that was this past week's episode.

Oh, that shows how much I pay attention. I've got a friend who produces the show, so I should feel the shame right now.

sumi - you define yourself ;o)

Doctor Who, I think, works well most of the time as long as people remember it is a family targeted show with poor production values. Personally, I think the best episodes tend to be when they stay on earth, stay away from the wobbily sets and go for high emotional and/or core character drama. The most expensive eps of Who -- the 'off world' stand alones -- are always the lowest rated ones, which I think is something which collides with the old Who fans.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm an old-school Who fan who quite liked the first new season and was well on my way to enjoying the one just past until a tsunami of cutesy smugness and twitchy overacting swamped the show around the fifth episode.

Damnit, you said Runaway Bride and I didn't know what you meant! Please use show titles not just episiode titles in spoilery posts!

Crap, I'm sorry, sumi. I try to be good about that, too.

Sorry, sumi, that was me too. I was trying to be more helpful, since I figured if I just said Doctor Who that people would think I was talking about the Series 2 finale, but instead I ended up being less helpful. My bad.

Newbies tend not to care for former Who, and are usually less vitrol towards Russell. Although they mostly hate his boy!kissing agenda.

Really? But... it's boys kissing boys! What's not to love? People confuse me.

Art Crawl!!!

So, new people who prefer 9 to 10 are our own separate category?

JenP - Dec 27, 2006 3:00:46 pm PST #4749 of 10001

That's my category, too, sumi. I miss CE. I enjoy Tennant a lot of the time, but I just adored CE's portrayal.

All is well that ends in pizza.

If you are talking about wobbly sets, I'm assuming you mean classic Who.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I found a blooper in a Supernatural episode that has me a bit peeved. If you're going to put a location at the start of an episode and you spell it correctly there, then you darn well ought to make sure the city limits sign is spelled the same way. Especially when it is a town right next to mine.

Sail, I saw that when I rewatched S1, and laughed and laughed. Classic.
