Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"What does the gun do?"
"It shoots bullets really fast."

I was watching so cursorily that I don't have a clue about anything that happened - though I will make an effort to watch at some point - but I happened to focus on the screen when that came out, and I was very amused. Also saw a very cool Peter Krause walk-n-stare. Also, also, I didn't know that the actor's name was pronounced all German-like until I heard it on a Sci-fi promo recently.

I hadn't really thought about Zach's sexuality much, though it seemed clear to me in the ep w/ the Homecoming Dance that he had feelings (whoa-whoa-whoa-feelings) for Claire. Or, that's what I took from it, anyway. I didn't know that the character was originally planned to be gay.

SGA - I can't even believe the episode title - is coming to me now. Halfway there. Whee!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I don't know. Zach pretty much told Claire straight out he didn't have a crush on her at one point. Granted, he could have been lying, but I seem to recall him giving the impression that it was silly for her to even think that.

I don't remember that part - which is unsurprising, because I really need to sit down and rewatch the whole first ten, or whatever, over again. I think I missed a lot when I was still trying to figure out who everyone was.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Huh. I took away just the opposite. When he came to get her from her bedroom, I thought he came out to her.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

somehow managed to post this in the completely wrong thread:

Zach: had thought up until the end that he was crushing on Claire and the "girlfriend" comment from Jackie was her just being mean, so I was kinda surprised when Zach himself confirmed it (and I liked it because he ended up being just a super-great friend and helped him relate to her with the whole "I'm different" thing they both have).

The Lost Room: no clue who this Kraus-Ah guy is, but either he's a crappy actor or phoning it in for an altogether crappy mini-series, I was sadly underwhelmed. I think I enjoyed the beginning of The Triangle better than this (mmm, Eric Stoltz...), which is a bit sad.

I did like how the Weasel (Montague?) shaped up. He seemed to be the only actor having fun with his role.

And I keep waiting for Kevin Pollack to break out into his The Whole 9/10 Yards schtick. I betcha his sick kid is going to have some role later on, either be in possession of an object, being made sick by an object, or serve as something to make Kevin Pollack's character sympathetic at the 11th hour.

Wow, apparently even when I figured out who everyone was, I completely missed huge chunks of obvious. OK. I often get distracted while watching because I know I can rewatch online whenever, and then I rarely do. But I will definitely rewatch that ep, and soon, because I have made parts of it up in my head, which, while fun, doesn't make for helpful discussion on my part.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Yeah, wasn't that when he made his "be true to yourself" speech? When I realized he was actually gay, he just became so much more awesome because he just loved Claire as a friend without expecting anything in return. Everything he'd done for her, gone through with her, was done sans the skeevy "but I just want you to looooove me!" (which, he wasn't doing anyway, but it's still nice doing without even the potential of that)
