Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

'Out Of Gas'

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ohhhhh, right. He was in the ready room tonight, I recognised him. I just got the familial relationships confused--wrong firstborn. I thought, since the Hot Dog actor is EJO's son that you meant...well, you know. Thanks for clearing that up.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Kathy - yes, it is.

I thought so. They had done such a good job of teaching the Brit actors how to talk Yank that I have no clue which actors were from the States and who wasn't. I'm still trying to remember which of the GIs was Foley (played by Jamie Bamber).

What is even happening?

I watched BSG last night, and understood it all, but wouldn't understand half this discussion, if Beverly hadn't asked her questions.

By the by, what does "REO" stand for?

The combination of the quality of the picture and the music (?) that is with it was kind of headache making. And the content. Hmmm.
To what is the above referring, sumi?

To what is the above referring, sumi?

Not sumi, but it's referring to the preview of next week's ep that Sci-fi put up online for a limited time right after the first show aired - about a two minute clip.

Don't know about REO.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Heroes:

I think Peter doesn't have a scar because it's a vision, not the future.

Also the timeline may be broken. In the original timeline, Peter may not have been in the blast, and lived longer, maybe even got the wound that became the scar in the aftermath. Future!Hiro didn't say how far in the future he came from.

Thanks, Jen. That's what I thought, but then a couple of posts later, sumi said:
Hmmm, I can't wait to see the preview on demand. . . if it clarifies or if it goes in a COMPLETELY different direction. (Which is what last week's preview On Demand did.)
When I read that, I figured she hadn't seen it, after all. Is the On Demand preview different? I'm still so confused.

Relatedly, how long is the preview available, online? I can't find it, today and my P.C. is always off, by the time I sit down to watch BSG. I know the ad says it's a limited time, so maybe time is already up. But I could just be oblivious to it, and would like to watch it, if it's still online.

I got it wrong, it's actually RIO, for Radar Intecept Officer. Goose was Maverick's RIO, for example. They watch the radar, alert the pilot where the enemy ships are, what direction they're coming from, how many. RIO's don't have weapons. Pilots, I'm told by the militarily-informed people in my house, fly the plane and shoot. RIOs do everything else: eyes, communications, monitoring ship status, etc.

ETA: Further, I'm informed by BSG fans in my house that in Helo's case he would be a DIO, because they don't use radar, they use Dradis.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

In modern jet fighters, the backseater in a two seat aircraft is known as the RIO or Radar Intercept Officer. He keeps track of the other airplane/target and works the missile/bomb controls so the pilot can fly the plane. I suspect REO is something along the same lines. RIOs are general folks who can't quite meet the physical criteria for the front seat, so they get trained on the back seat. We had one Lt. who was a RIO strictly for the fact that his leg length for the front seat was too long, but not for the back seat. Really don't want to amputate someone's legs when they have to punch out.

ETA: Ha! X-posty goodness.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I was about to ask about the Dradis/Radar thingie. Kudos to the in-house BSG fans!

It is different. I'm actually not sure where/how to get the On Demand one.

Relatedly, how long is the preview available, online?

I don't know how long - probably a few hours. It's not up anymore, though.

ETA: Cindy, I had a thing I wanted to e you about anyway, so I'll recap the preview for you - insent in a minute.
