You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I finally got around to watching School Reunion (and the one that followed - still have the Cybermem two-parter to get through to get caught up), and I thoroughly loved it. Loved seeing ASH as the main bad guy (and one who was a sort-of vampire), but I'm a little sad because this means that in all likelihood, he will never (a) play the Master on the show the way he did on the radio or (b) ever be cast as the Doctor, and I think he'd make a fabulous Doctor.

Colin Baker became the Doctor after a previous turn as a supporting character during Tom baker's run.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Lalla Ward became Romana on Doctor Who after playing a different recurring character is the previous season.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Meta reason for that: talk is that apparently during the shooting of this episode, Paddywhack had to have surgery and a resetting done on his wrist.

I saw that going around lj, and it does make sense.

My favorite scene from the SPN episode this week, though, was Sam and Jo sitting in the back of the car and the faces Jo was making at Sam and the utter sympathy on Sam's face. It was hilarious. I think they actually bonded more than Dean and Jo.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I gather that Padalecki actually broke his wrist after shooting for the 2nd season began? Because I missed an episode in the middle there, and I was suddenly like, if you wanted him to have a broken wrist, why didn't you do it when he had the Spectacular Car Accident of T-Boning?

And then I realized, they hadn't needed it then. For all he's got to be throwing up after every take of climbing up and down ladders, Sam's been a reasonably active character. Even when he's only in 10 minutes of the episode, they're the wrangliest 10 minutes.

Which would make Ellen and Dean the mom and dad, and thus leads me to happy-making Dean/Ellen places.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Why do the SPN fans call Padalecki Paddywhack? I've been curious for a while.

Yeah, I sort of wish they'd at least had a throwaway line explaining the in-character reason because it just kept distracting me, wondering if I'd missed something that had happened to Sam.

They wrote in the scene for the zombie episode ("Children Shouldn't Play With Death Things", right?) at the end, so they could explain it. And that was four episodes in.

x-posty.

Uh, they did. I'm pretty sure it was at the end of Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. After his fight with the chickzombie, Sam says that he thinks she broke his hand/wrist. I disremember the exact wording.
