If you turn it off while your hands are in someones stomach that would seem to pretty fatal.
To you too, though. I mean, if it's Kitty Pryde like. She was at risk of death if she unphased while still in anything.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Torchwood:
WindSparrow - I noticed the rapist/rapee thing about Owen too. According to the "Declassified" on last night (think Confidential - short behind-the-scenes show), Owen's going to be having a season-long arc relating to that stuff. I don't like the character at all, but I do like the actor - he was great in "Bleak House" - so I'm going along with it .
Kate, I completely agree with your take on Gwen's reactions to physical violence, but I really like the way they're playing that. I agree that it's more realistic than the way the threat of violence is usually shown on TV. Also, you have to remember that low-ranking British police, which Gwen was (she was a P.C., a police constable, the entry-level job) would not have firearms experience or training, and would theoretically not be exposed to excessive violence on the job .
Yes, I think they're playing up the dark, and playing down the funny with Torchwood. Which is a pity, but it's early days yet .
Did Heroes run a minute or two long? I didn't get around to watching it until last night and it seemed to cut out before it was over.
(Torchwood)
Windsparrow: I did notice that, and while I get that they were establishing a way to address not only his date-rape from the first episode, but also the ways in which the humans fucking around with alien tech is going to bite them all in the ass (at least, that's my spec), it felt ridiculously anvilly. Look, it's a rapist! Who now is forced to understand what it feels like to be raped!
It's not that I begrudge them the dealing with this issue, because I don't. Frankly, I think it's kind of brave. But it's also very poorly constructed. And I have as many problems with that as I do the introduction of a rapist-main-character in the first place.
Fiona (and happy birthday again!)-- I agree and reiterate that, *especially* in Wales, and *especially* in Cardiff, the amount of violence a low-level police officer would have to deal with is extraordinarily minimal. The greatest problem would be barfights--and, from my recollection, even those rarely get out of hand. Wales is a very low-crime country, and that extends to its capital. So suddenly being exposed to a high level of violence, in *Wales*, would be terribly shocking. (Though I really do speak with no authority on that--it's just how I remember things.)
That being said, Wales and Cardiff really are my favorite things about the show. at least, of things that are not Jack Harkness' ass.
Heroes is one of those shows that always seems to start at 10:01 instead of ten, so probably, Cindy.
Cindy -- yeah, it ran over, at least in Eastern Standard Time, perhaps they got the western feed corrected.
Theo, or SA, did you catch the last minute? I'm not sure why TiVo didn't. I'll have to extend its time on my TiVo.
I quickly switched over to live TV and was able to watch. We found out that Claire's bioparents were hired actors, and that Eden is definitely a plant working for Cheer!Dad -- she went over to visit Isaac on her own after Mohinder left to go back to India. (We'll see if that lasts....)
Sorry -- some of the above may have been before the missing minutes. I was pretty sleepy, so it's all dreamlike now.
Yeah, I ahemed it, so--the end note was Eden showing up at Isaac's door to "take him in" as Claire's dad told her to. And then we closed on a shot of Niki bleeding out on her bedroom floor and Mohinder talking about evolution and natural selection.
And then we closed on a shot of Niki bleeding out on her bedroom floor
Oh, that's why people are talking about her being injured. Stupid running long.
