Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I don't get why everyone thinks of Jack as this sex machine.

I don't see him as a sex machine so much as sex positive, in a "So you've finally shaken off those pesky Puritanical roots, America! What will you do now?" "Oh, I think the question is what won't I do, Universe." kind of way.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I must have missed all that.

Don't forget the flirting with that network programmer on Gamestation in "Bad Wolf." And basically every interview Russell Davies and John Barrowman have given that involved talking about the character.

Well, I don't really read the interviews, and I shouldn't have to in order to understand the character.

Which, I know, isn't always the case these days and is a problem that only affects certain fandoms that one may or may not be in. I guess I never saw the flirting as, I suppose, actual flirting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've never read the interviews, and the man oozes sex to me. Sex in all directions.

What did you see the flirtation as PC?

Well, I don't remember it at all, so I must not have even noticed it. And if I did, I probably just saw it as non-serious joking.

I definitely saw the flirting as flirting, and I think it was intended as such. I would characterize him as exactly that, actually - a big ol' flirt. An equal opportunity flirter.

I loves me some Jack Harkness.

I'm surprised that it was missable. Jack may very well sub, but not his text.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I have no idea who you guys are talking about. I mean, usually I have at least an inkling...
