I googled (immediately, so they hadn't sprung up from the ep) and found many references, so I think the "fairer than death" line is from the book.
I'm telling you, the exact line from the movie is what's in the book. Just in a different context. Whatever was said on SG-whichever isn't from the book. I'll flip through and see if I can find it, later.

Nope. Once I finish a paper, I want to go back and watch The Pegasus Project. I was in a hotel room with my family when it aired before, and the differences, depending on which set of charcters are POV, are fascinating. Although Rodney gets talked about as more of an ass the more the SGC is involved in any episode of SGA, too.

There's a pain quote, and fair quote. I sometimes cross-attribute them myself. Which means I need both a rewatch and a reread.
I was pretty happy - it's the first episode of SGA I've completely enjoyed with no reservations since "No Man's Land."
"...Life isn't fair. It's just fairer than death, that's all." are the last lines of the book.
