That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

It's also canon now that John can quote Princess Bride (I can't place that line, though. Is it in the film version? If so, where?)

Heh. My immediate reaction to that line was, "Yay, Princess Br--hey, that line's not from the movie!" I definitely don't recognize it. Maybe it's a reference to the "Life is pain" line?

I rewatched the midnight showing of SGA, mostly so that I could see Ronon pick up John like a little kid again. Love!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What line? Maybe it's from the book.

On the other hand, maybe someone could have mentioned to them that the Atlantis team had been mucking around with the Replicators' programming.

Oh, indeed.

Maybe it's from the book.

Nah. The line is, IIRC, "Life is pain, princess. If anyone tells you life is fair, they're selling you something." Or words to that effect.

I thought it was pretty cheap to claim it was Princess Bride and get it wrong. But then I also thought it was pretty cheap to waste RDA on an episode in which he acted like a mannikin. ::sigh::

"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

Trivia! In the book, that line is said to Fezzik by his mother. Erm, without the "Highness" part.

(Oh, I just realized you were probably quoting the SGA line, which, as you can see, is more of a paraphrase.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Also, FIC-BAIT!!! 5 or 6 different kinds, and that's without the "completing the episode" thing.

That phone call where Rodney remarked that he and John had earthside dinner plans? The first slash fics incorporating the scene were probably posted before the scene was finished airing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sarameg, you should know that Eureka is available as an iTunes download. So much cheaper than a cable subscription. You could try just one or two episodes to see if you like it. t /enabler

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

It was Ke'ra.

No wonder I didn't trust her! See, this is an unfortunate side-effect of reusing actors.

I googled last night, and that line is apparently from the book. I just thought it was odd for him to throw out a line from the book, and then say "good movie." It would be an even more obscure reference!

I also think the ficcers will use the throwaway line about the Sudoku books. OMG John likes math! @@

Also, is it in Flanigan's contract that he has to wear so much black? (Not that I'm complaining...)

The Ronon thing was adorable. And RDA must be burning time in his mini-contract. (Also, are we supposed to think that the events on SG-1 and SGA are happening in parallel?)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something" is quite a different sentiment, IMO

I googled (immediately, so they hadn't sprung up from the ep) and found many references, so I think the "fairer than death" line is from the book.

I knew I knew her! No wonder I was skeptical of her up-and-up-ness. (once again with the "What Aille said.")

Sudoku so isn't math. Logic, sure, but not math. It's like the math-less version of the Brotherhood puzzle.

I was very confused as to the relationship between "now" on SG1 and "now" on SGA.

Yeah. Where was SG-1 while the Atlantis team were sneaking out of the SGC?

And I'm still trying to figure out where they were storing the puddle-jumper...

Okay, so someone needs to write Jack saving the day from inside Atlantis during the hiatus. Redeem Jack for me, please. Preferably Martha Wilson.

I'm telling you, the exact line from the movie is what's in the book. Just in a different context. Whatever was said on SG-whichever isn't from the book. I'll flip through and see if I can find it, later.
