Yeah, I just assumed the "Ancients" were replicators. Maybe they're working together with the replicators who are attacking the city? Because if the SG folks had been there, they would have prepared much better for the attack, whereas the Ancients hardly did anything to defend themselves.
I don't think Replicators would be able to psychically activate Atlantis' systems as if they were Ancients. More likely, we just saw the latest in a long string of examples of the Ancients' amazing foresight and resourcefulness in dealing with their scientific experiments.

Ah well, at least this likely solves the depleted ZPM problem for some time to come.
Yeah, they created the ZPM problem last week to solve it this week. At least they planted the Gate Chunnel earlier in the season (they've had pretty good continuity this season, it seems to me.)
I think TPTB think Carson is more a part of the team than the audience (or, at least, I) do.
I didn't mind the slow, but, then, I like character stuff.
Also, FIC-BAIT!!! 5 or 6 different kinds, and that's without the "completing the episode" thing. It's also canon now that John can quote Princess Bride (I can't place that line, though. Is it in the film version? If so, where?)
I loved that their civvies reflected their Atlantis uniform colors.
Yeah, SG1 was very LotR meets Indiana Jones (and, were this it, Angel). I called the "she has no powers" thing long before Daniel did, but good on him for listening to me and saying, "yes". I was saying, "push her off the bridge", too, though, but I guess that's not dramatic.
I understand that it's an effects shot, but she needed to throw the stones until they stuck at each turn. That is the prudent thing to do.

Practical but not very chivalrous. Perhaps her mum could do that.
Haven't we seen that chick before?
She played a role on SG-1. Can't remember her name, but Something, Destroyer of Worlds. There was the older version of the character, played by someone else, and then on another show, she was en-youngened, and played by the lead, blonde Ancient from tonight's ep.
I was kind of meh on SG-1 tonight, but I liked SGA. Didn't find it boring - I enjoyed many of the character moments. And, of course, I love it when a team cowboys up and goes all rogue.

It was Ke'ra.
The actress, Megan Leitch, also played the sister of Fox Mulder (Samantha) on X-Files.

Heh. My immediate reaction to that line was, "Yay, Princess Br--hey, that line's not from the movie!" I definitely don't recognize it. Maybe it's a reference to the "Life is pain" line?
I rewatched the midnight showing of SGA, mostly so that I could see Ronon pick up John like a little kid again. Love!

What line? Maybe it's from the book.
On the other hand, maybe someone could have mentioned to them that the Atlantis team had been mucking around with the Replicators' programming.
Oh, indeed.
Maybe it's from the book.
Nah. The line is, IIRC, "Life is pain, princess. If anyone tells you life is fair, they're selling you something." Or words to that effect.
I thought it was pretty cheap to claim it was Princess Bride and get it wrong. But then I also thought it was pretty cheap to waste RDA on an episode in which he acted like a mannikin. ::sigh::
"Life is pain, princess. If anyone tells you life is fair, they're selling you something." Or words to that effect.
"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."
Trivia! In the book, that line is said to Fezzik by his mother. Erm, without the "Highness" part.
(Oh, I just realized you were probably quoting the SGA line, which, as you can see, is more of a paraphrase.)

That phone call where Rodney remarked that he and John had earthside dinner plans? The first slash fics incorporating the scene were probably posted before the scene was finished airing.
