A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
GA is kinda the gold standard for industry midgets, isn't she?
It takes true brevity to get a tallification-box named after you.
I think Seth Green doesn't count, because he is just like, "Dude, I am short. So?" Whereas, with Scully, it was all about pretending that Mulder didn't have to crouch down to whisper in her ear.
I think Dustin Hoffman's allowed to be short onscreen too. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is tall, like American heroes are.
You know.
Gotcha. I didn't realize the attempt at fooling was one of the defining elements.
...huh. Anyone else a little scared?
Oh boy, yeah. I think we have good ideas and criticisms, both individually and collectively. But I'm not terribly confident of how effective our suggestions would be when applied to the potential audience as a whole.
I mean, Wonderfalls was a really good show that appealed in many ways to a lot of the board posters. And it lasted four weeks, possibly because we may have made up about half its viewership.
Though I did find myself reading transcripts and thinking wistfully of all the Chiana/Jool that people didn't write.
I think people imagined the noises Jool would make and then flung their keyboards out the window in terror.
Tom Cruise, on the other hand, is tall, like American heroes are.
It's just all the hot air providing bouyancy.

Actually, it's the engrams, but don't tell him that.

I think it's that I haven't seen her off a Scully box much, so it was striking. Really the enormous actor head was the relevant part.
There was a guy dressed up at DragonCon as the Burger King guy. I was disturbed and did not take a picture.
I didn't realize the attempt at fooling was one of the defining elements.
Well, you know--it's like short is some dirty little secret. They go to such lengths (erm) to hide GA's and Cruise's. I doubt Seth really gets boxed unless it is to make the cinematographer's life easy.
I doubt Seth really gets boxed unless it is to make the cinematographer's life easy.
Isn't that why they boxed GA, though? In that it was easier (or faster) long term to have her stand on a box than to constantly be trying to get the right angle (or, worse, go to multiple angles).
Well, you know--it's like short is some dirty little secret.
Given how many actors seem to lie about their heights, I got to agree with you there.
