The status is NOT quo.

Deb, how many coats are you putting on your kitchen? Or are you just painting it a different color each day? ;) Btw - brief little note to you -- insent.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Kristin, two coats, but it's having to be done in sections, and remember, it's a three-room kitchen; we're talking nearly 1200 feet of wall and ceiling space. There are so many curves and cornices and demented little angles to go over; Nic spent half an hour handpainting what he calls the rosette and I call the medallion above the ceiling fan. That kind of thing. A very warm, happy cream, but this is exhausting, and I want my house back. The dining room is loaded with stuff from the kitchen.

And I really want to get some writing done, and it's going to be days before I do.

Skipping to the end - deb, I'm trying to send from a different address. Really sorry for all that bother.

Nilly, sweetie, I'm just sorry it's so frustrating for you.

I'm probably signing off momentarily. It's been a very long five days and I'm bone-tired.

edit: WOOT! Nilly, it's here!

It's worse when I can't get in touch with, say, my PhD advisor (currently abroad) for filling documents for submitting my research proposal.

Hope you have a restful night.

[Edit: finally! Third time's the charm]

Oh Deb, you are making me want to do anything but tackle the painting of my bedroom, which has no curves, but has many many weird angles. Plus, DH wants to paint the ceiling too.

Night all.

Deb, I got your comments. Thank you ever so much. You really brightened my day, since up until this point it was all bad orthodontist appointments and addressing rejection letters for the University CW Journal.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Brynn, insent from me, too. I really enjoy your writing style.

Deena: Thanks I just opened it up and am looking over your corrections. You're a very astute editor. Thanks again for taking the time, and for your kind words. It'd completely slipped my mind that you'd read the first mini version of this story. It's kind of neat to see how much it grew since then isn't it? I find creative process fascinating.

I find creative process fascinating.

Which is exactly why I (mostly) lurk in this thread.
