Erika, I'm glad you got good feedback on your piece. I really think you've got a future as an essayist to a broad audience, because you have such a distinctive voice.

Heh...that's one way to describe it. Kessie, I'm still early in my beta...you're very good at setting up dramatic tension, and I've mentioned that if I tried to write in German I'd write like Tonto, right?(Wait, do you know who Tonto is?) I'm going through, changing to a more colloquial English and all, but if you have any questions, I'd suggest getting one of our crack Buffista grammarians on it, because I kind of write by feel and sound, so I'm not sure I could tell you "Why?" mostly. And "Just 'cause" is not overly constructive.(Although some things are idioms and probably don't make much more sense than that, to be honest.) Like in Spanish, my second language, if you are not careful when you say "it's hot" you'll say "I'm horny."

Hm i must say i´m pretty bad with idioms, dont know very many so there are probably a lot of mistakes in it. As i said I was really in need of a Beta reader ! And well i dont know who Tonto is but i think i can kinda guess. ;) Btw I read it over yesterday and thought i still need to do something to the chaps 4-6 ( storywise) ... maybe you can tell me ,if you are that far already, if you think the same !

*plunking out of six month lurk* General lack of posting due to general madness in my life. Anyway, I was hoping someone wouldn't mind looking over my short story. I have to submit the final copy for a CW class and could use the opinion of at least one more sophisticated reader. It's about 11 pages, double-spaced... I could grovel, or bake maybe?
