Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just got a call from a friend - she had to have one of her cats put to sleep.

Masha was a good and energetic kitty who as a kitten loved to play fetch for hours on end. She was 15 years old and had a good life. I lived with Masha (and her owner) for about four years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I am crying at my desk now....

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

What got me was that this guy, in addition to using his drill sergeant tactics to frighten classes of well-behaved 8th grade honor students into terrified submission, actually broke a student's hand slamming his pointer stick down on a desk while bellowing for silence AND KEPT HIS JOB.

If it'd happened to me, either my mom would have owned that school, or he would have been nicknamed "Lefty" from that point onward.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

AmyLiz, Slate did a review of vodkas: [link]

Grey Goose, Belvedere, and Ketel One are the most popular high-end vodkas in general bar usage.

What is even happening?

Stolichnaya is pretty swanky, isn't it?

Because books.

Aw, tommy, I'm sorry.

And thanks, juliana! I forgot about Ketel One. Shows you how often I drink anything other than a cold beer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, Tommy, that's sad. I'm sorry.

AmyLiz, are you just looking for swanky overall, or can you be more specific? Like, I think a rich middle-aged person would possibly pick something different than a trying-to-impress person in their 20s.

Not really, not any more.

I don't even think I've had it. It's one of those names stuck in my head. I think I've probably only ever had Smirnoff's and Absolut.

Stoli and Absolut are both swank, but they've been so popular and around so long that they're mentally considered mid-range instead of premium. It's a strange mindset, but I've been watching it happen. It's not like there's much of a price difference, but the differentiation is there.

Personally, I like Skyy.
