I'll be fine. I'll be your bounty, Jubal Early. And I'll just fade away.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Timelies,

Skipped 700 or so. Wasn't supposed to work tonight, but other night-shifter was exhausted (she only got one day off last week because she was training me) and offered to cover my Friday shift if I covered her tonight, so I actually get both Friday and Saturday night off this week.

Spoke with my boss briefly today. He completely understands my frustration (and says he's getting the impression the other help-deskers are frustrated as well) and wants to get us shifted overly to hourly and onto the new schedules ASAP, but both are still pending approval from the CIO. I'm really not sure what the hourly vs. salary has to do with the CIO, though. I would think it's more of an HR issue, since it has to do with Labor laws.

Haven't had a chance to work on my resume, since I spent the weekend with the girlfriend, expecting to have tonight to work on it. It's definitely my goal for Friday.

ION, the ninja monkeys are still listed on the project plan on the dept white board, though whether it's due to ignorance or amusement, I'm not sure.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

And a little browsing tells me that Godiva Dark is 72%. Can't find the info on Toblerone. What are some other good brands?

eta: Finally figured out how to spell Scharffen Berger and find their web site. Their semisweet is 62%, bittersweet is 70%, and unsweetened is 99%.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Green & Black organic is good. They make a bar with orange and spices that is teh yum. I like Valrhona, and it comes in 85%. Stay far, far away from Hachez, though--tastes oily to me.

Swouncing

Skipping and poking head to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is billytea's birthday (also Mikal's, whom I haven't seen posting in a little forever).

Happy birthday! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

(And how wonderful is it that billytea's "Beep Me" post from a couple of days ago probably means that he received a really awesome birthday present from, well, the universe, pretty much, including himself?)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It is just the most wonderful thing. I smile every time I think of it. They've earned their happy!

Hi, Nilly.

Hi Nilly!

Happy birthday, billytea.

I have some new pictures from Dublin: [link]

Things to do to stay awake while working nights: teach yourself how to throw a ball left/opposite-handed. I've got some natural inclination, since I'm a born lefty forced righty, so it wasn't too tough to get the motion down, but the accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. After the 5th time hitting the corner of the door frame/door handle/swing arm resulted in a wild ricochet that endangered someone's desk I've decided to give it a rest for now.

Excellent pictures, SA.

Visiting Dublin is on my "gotta do someday" list, if only to admire the Book of Kells in the flesh. Then perhaps a jaunt up north to Drogheda to see cousin Oliver's head.

Thanks, dcp! The Book of Kells is one super-touristy attraction that is completely worth every penny and any trouble. I'm going to see it again, once the tourist throngs have died down.
