Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Because books.

Which is why I've been so happy to find sellers on eBay (all companies out of Hong Kong, true) that will make the sort of clothes I want to my measurements, with no surcharges for custom sizing.

I think what the Buffistas need, surely as much as our own island and a teleporter, is a devoted seamstress who works only for us. Who makes all of our clothes custom, so there's none of this frustrating shopping going on, and clothes that are suddenly too loose or too snug can be taken in or out easily (because she would be wise enough to include seam allowances).

Just think of the things she could be making, while we ply her with Fernet and good music and DVDs! Vintage inspired dresses for Aimee, corsets and petticoats for Jilli, sundresses for ita, and magically fitting and flattering jeans for everyone who wants them!

Seriously. Although my most unfavorite size was busting-out-of-14. "Regular" sized clothes were too small, plus size were too big.

I hated this, too. I carry all my weight in my hips, but my waist stays relatively smaller. So pants never fit right -- if they fit in the hips they were too loose in the waist.

I've lost some weight recently (I'm not even trying, either, which is weird) and recently bought two pairs of size 10 pants (in two different brands). But I have a pair of size 15 cheapo Mossimo pants I bought at Target two years ago, that were always slightly too tight to wear, and they fit fine now. Makes no sense.

I just wish I could take all my clothes with me as I bounced up and down the size chart

So much this. I'm happy to lose weight, except for where I can't actually afford to buy all new clothes, and I have a lot of clothes I really love that are too big now, in a looks-weird-falling-off way.

What is even happening?

Update on my brother: He did get his medication today. But not without a fight. The nurse had to call in my dad to help convince him to take his medication. Here's a tip to the fuckwad nurse--GIVE HIM THE SHOT ON TIME NEXT TIME and there won't be a problem.

I'm glad he got the shot. I feel so badly for him, and for your poor dad.

Oh, what a lovely dream.

Yep. While I'm happy about my new size, the amount of time I've spent taking in favorite dresses and skirts is insane. And I'm probably going to have to sell off one of my favorite jackets, because I don't know if I could find a tailor to take it in properly. Which, I know, is a silly thing to fret about.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I know I've made this point here before, but if clothes were sold by measurement it would still be the same sizing as they use now-- you'd still have proportion problems, you would just have to try them on less if you kept track of your measurements before shopping.

But you're still reading the bad fac, so it's not like you're under some upside-down spell, right?

I'm in the black hole of regular to plus. With some extra curve that means the plus doesn't work right, really. I hate shopping. And today was really cool and made me realize that I hate most of my winter stuff that didn't get purged and it is looking old and bleckblechblarg. I need a body double that likes shopping.

For those interested, Boys of Baraka is being shown on my local public tv at 10 tonight.

I missed this is my clothing natter. Good news. Surely they know now, though, that he can't miss it again next week, right?

I'm glad your brother finally got his meds, Cash, but I'm so sorry how much of a trial it's been for you all.
